I was thinking the same thing, that statement is complete BS.

I really don't understand the big deal anyway, if you like the stock ROM go ahead & run it -why do people think it's necessary to defend that decision to everybody??

I used Rstgs roms for a long time, before i started to cook my own, and those roms were basically stock, but had features updated and improved. You never know until you try. I havent tried every rom out there by any means, as i simply dont have time, or am not interested in what the rom has to offer.

Im using Demolition ROM now, till i can get mine running again, and i have had only one problem (cant remove one tab, not a big deal) all my programs work flawlessly and speed and battery are awesome..

All im saying is dont bash it unless youve tried whats out there. Each ROM works differently for each person.
That's why I said correct me if I'm wrong...and I'm not bashing at all. It's not an insult to call someone overweight if they really are overweight
I've read actual posts of people saying they can't get this to work or that doesn't work right, when it works flawlessly on stock. As well as people saying they have tried various roms, but always go back to stock for functionality.

When the TP came out everyone just automatically assumed the the stock ROM stunk also. Now GRANTED, it is NOT at all perfect but it is WAY better than the stock ROMS of the previous Winmo devices. Thankfully memory is plentiful so if you follow the tweaks and fixes, stock is actually pretty decent.

No Custom ROMs definitely give you a level on user configurability (also 6.5) not possible with stock. But I don't think anyone will criticize those using a stock ROM. It is perfectly fine.
Yea, I didn't even know about ppcgeeks & XDA when I had my mogul and even I noticed the lack of memory lol. The tp's memory... is all I have to say!

And yes I would like to test 6.5...I'm really big on looks, but just don't know if it is THAT much cooler, to have to reconfigure my device & risk functionality.

*stands up* Stock rom user here. Like stated in other post I run stock rom with tweaks/hacks//mods to better have it fit my needs. I do feel the stock rom being the most stable to handle all what the phone needs to do. So imma stick with the stock rom n keep tweaking and hacking til my hearts content*sits back down*

Re: Am I the only one who likes stock rom?

lol thanks hotshot. Btw, the only real reason I haven't given SPBMS a shot is because I am in love with my diamondbackgroundchanger for TF3D... Can this work with SPB mobile shell? If someone can confirm this I'm on board SPB

Re: Am I the only one who likes stock rom?

No problem bro. And I like my tf3d haven't tweaked it yet to make it a lil faster but its still snappy enough for me but I'm getting tp2 so that should fix that problem(and no not trying to turn this into a tp2 thread! Heil no I'm stay on topic!) another reason I like sticking with the stock rom is because of the light hacker in me. Flashing a rom is someone else fixing a problem you might don't wanna do your self. I love to open phm reg n try to fix stuff myself. Do my own modding not bashing rom flasher or chef's cause they are really needed on the forum for trail and error! So my hat is truly off to you!

it is more than just looks (heck, you can make any ROM cool looking if you know how). 6.5 is WAY better in the finger scrolling dept, to me that is the biggest advantage.

Re: Am I the only one who likes stock rom?

Not that I have any issues with people running "Stock Rom" but the truth of it is the second you tweak or hack, it is no longer stock!

My definition of "STOCK" is simply the rom that came with it from the carrier.
It may seem stable but it is also crippled! (Especially if your a VZW user!)

Try running GarminXT or Google maps on a stock VZW that you bought 6 months ago (VZW has since unlocked the GPS!). It won't work!

These stock "Carrier" ROMs are also loaded up with crap you will never use because the only reason it is there is so they can get you for more charges (Like Viewcast)

The Custom roms are not unstable if you pick the right cook. In fact they too are stock roms that have been cleaned of carrier upcharge apps, tweaked for performance and usually adds features the phone should have had from the carrier but was not included so they could steer you to their PAY PEr PLAY sevice instead!

The reason VZW locked the GPS was so you would be forced to pay $10 a month for VZNav instead of using the free google maps!

Bottom line though is to run what you like!
As they say if it isn't broke do not fix it.

But by the time VZW releases a stock rom with TF3D2 I will have been running that for a 6 months without the need to buy a new phone or re-up for two years!

It's really just a matter of personal taste but I always replace the Stock Carrier roms for something I know has not been crippled and has been cleaned of pay for play apps I will NEVER use which leaves me more space to put on stuff I WILL use...

Re: Am I the only one who likes stock rom?

lol awesome HB. A few questions if you wouldn't mind...

What is the difference between Opera and Opera Mobile?
&
What do these programs do:
PocketShield
RescoRadio
Magicall
SK Tools
Sprite Terminator

Asphyx: I feel sorry for you having a vzw TP I hate verizon so much, I was with them for like a year once and all they did was screw me over.

But for those saying things about the bloatware on stock, that's why I use goodthings2life's Sprint TP Cleanup
