Re: Sprint TP on Verizon UPDATE! (NO LONGER WORKING)

High chance after a week or two you'll get a call from the TS agent telling you the request was denied (you're lucky if you get a call, I just had a voicemail magically appear). Sprint phones *ARE* blacklisted as far as I've been able to check...Now matter what tier of support, any mention of Sprint phone on Verizon and they hurry to get you off the phone. Argue and they nicely start repeating themselves over and over until you tire and hang up.

As for Alltel phones:
If the phone is compatible and no longer on service with Alltel, Verizon will add the ESN/MEID and activate it (via phone, can't be done OTA).
If the phone is Alltel and NOT compatible with Verizon, they will swap the phone for a close cousin.
If the phone is Alltel and still in service with Alltel (via contract), Verizon won't accept the phone or service and tell you to wait until May 3rd March 31st July 2nd etc etc. No tech seems to know an exact date, they all pull a random one out their asses. March/May 3rd seems to be a common one so that might be it.

So Alltel touch pro's can be activated without a problem on their network. Has anyone recently confirmed this? I know about the merger and everything but the Alltel touch pro is a lot better than the verizon touch pro

Re: Sprint TP on Verizon UPDATE! (NO LONGER WORKING)

My Sprint TP have been working since early November & has always shown as "unknown device" with kind of a grayed out pic of a generic flip phone in VerizonWireless.

Yea, and it will continue to work unless VZW decides to do something about all these "unknown" phones. But i doubt they will.....at least i hope .

I can confirm that Alltel phoens WILL activate on Verizon, gotta escalate to someone who deals directly with you. Just got mine activated (data included, no funny business) about 15 minutes ago. Loving it!

Re: Sprint TP on Verizon UPDATE! (NO LONGER WORKING)

For those who activated the alltel phones: did you have to go thru the sprint tp how-to guide before activating on verizon?

Or does the alltel phone work correctly after calling Verizon to get it activated?

Thanks

You have to do the steps. An alltel phone will have alltel specific settings/files (prl, eri, mip settings, etc) that will need to be changed to work on a verizon number/account

Re: Sprint TP on Verizon UPDATE! (NO LONGER WORKING)

Followed the Sprint to Verizon guide (you can also send the phone in to the DEC, take it to a corp store/tech dept and have them fill out the form). Once its flashed, call up Verizon and escalate to the highest level of TS you can get, better yet email them, most of the email crew are high up techs. You're on your own from there!

Re: Sprint TP on Verizon UPDATE! (NO LONGER WORKING)

It appears there is now another CDMA possibility. Verizon seems to have no problem activating U.S. Cellular phones. At least last I knew anyway. It appears as if U.S. ellular now has the Touch Pro. I figured they wouldn't get these until the T2 was out! Ha! I'm kind of shocked really. I left Them when I got my Touch Pro in November.

Anyway it is a non gimped Touch Pro. Looks like the Sprint version with the chrome. Also it has the red and green call button lights.
