6/8/09 FIRMWARE UPDATE: Verizon GPS Unlocked

yes i did..even when in auto thats what the settings are but when i try it in man. it wont even try to search. when its in auto it will search for about a min then it tells me no gps receiver found... its werid because im locked on 5 sats and its picking up about 8 of them....thanks again for ur help

OK, I am a bit of a newbie, and I am hoping I can get some help.

I tried to install this (as I did not want to flash the ROM on my devise and lose all the programs I have installed).

I tried to follow the steps in the first post, but ran into a problem. My HTC Touch Pro does not seem to have \windows\ppst.exe. There is a file called ppst, but it does not seem like an executable and when I click on it, nothing happens.

Now I am stuck with no service on my phone. I tried to manually update my prl, but since I have no service I can't dail ##775 (maybe I am not understanding those instructions completely).

I am using the stock ROM that came with the phone.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

EDIT - I did a soft reset n my phone and got service back. I then called *228 and used option 2 and now my service seems to be back to normal.

I would still love to get the GPS working and any help on that would be appreciated!

It is 2.01.002

And it is working now. After resetting a few times I was able to get my signal back. Also I realized that ppst was an exe file (I had to double click it to get it to work).

Now it is all working! Thanks for the update! Awesome!

Please Help! I'm trying and trying and trying to get my gps to work on the xv6800 to no avail. How do I know if my device info is correct or if i'm even using the right ROM? I'm following the instructions to a T but when I click on PPST it just puts the phone into power save mode and gives me an error sayint Cannot oper PPST. Please help.

I dont seem to be able to open any of the files here what should I use for the downloads I'm on Vista 64 , also my Touch Pro is from Alltel now that we are now part of Verizon will this fix work or will I need to flash a VZ rom to my tp?

alltel has no need for these files

they are only for the verizon tp that had the gps locked down
