6/8/09 FIRMWARE UPDATE: Verizon GPS Unlocked

Interesting problem for me. I have been flashing the new Verizon ROM several times since its release, and the GPS has worked quick and flawless without any additional hacks. I had to hard reset after trying to get a custom task bar going from the tsowen thread, and the GPS no longer works. I flashed again this morning, *228 programmed, updated Quick GPS, installed GPS Tool and nada.... Very strange problem...

EDIT: I tried flashing to a different radio, no dice. Reflashed to Mighty ROM and 5 second lock... So now I will try the VZW flash again and see what happens...

EDIT2: So I got home and flashed back to the exact same VZW ROM I did this morning and I get a three second lock on Google Maps..!?? Obviously, some bit got flipped somewhere that took two overwrites to get back. Wonder if all this flashing is wearing out the static ram cells..

If I extract the contents of the MR1 update and change the pagepool to 10, will this brick my phone if I dont have the hard spl loaded?

I have never gotten Live Search to get a GPS lock, but Google Maps has always worked. Even on a fresh flash without touching any GPS settings. I've tried going into the Live Search settings and choosing com4 manually, but there doesn't appear to be a lot of settings to change and so far nothing has worked. Has anyone seen this where one app works but on doesn't?

Have you tried starting Google Maps, allowing it to lock, leave it open, and then start Live too?

Just wondering if Live isn't starting GPS correctly on your TP.

Same boat here. Never posted, but I use the Mighty ROM and I have been frustrated since I bought my phone a month ago that I could not get Google Maps to detect the GPS.

I followed the instructions in the start of this post, and my GPS is working beautifully. Thank you very much, Bored!

I was experiencing the same problem with Live Search. I am running the new Stock VZW MR1 updated ROM. It is entirely stock except for the boatload of apps which I have installed. GPS was working fine with Google Maps and TomTom 7.4, but not Live Search.
Anyway, I installed the PPST2.01.cab, ran it and then updated my PRL to 51143. Live Search is now finding sats in <10 seconds!
I did change GPS to com 4 in Live Search settings, but after switching it back to intermediate driver, it still works!
Hope this helps y'all out! After getting GPS to work on my first Titan, I just can't live without it.
