Well I'd first like to Thank: CareTake, JuggaloX,Hibby50 and Aceracer24 for all of the help and attention on this. I had basically given up hope of flashing to any roms on my new Touch Pro. I had began loading my phone up with cabs and apps. until late last Night. I came back to this post and saw that you guys had posted again. It was a combination of all of your idea's and questions that got this fixed. Below is what I did and what will help the next poor lad who runs into this problem. (Keep in mind this is a Vista 64 bit ultimate PC) 1. I went into the connection settings and under usb to pc I removed the check for (enable advanced network functionality) and the check for (ask about connection type when I connect) When I did this vista immediately detected new hardware and begin installing drivers. at the conclusion of installing it said: (serial device installed) 2. My anti- virus app. (Kaspersky 7.0 with firewall) popped up and basically asked me some security questions which it had been asking me all alone but I had been ignoring it and just kept selecting allow. This time I just disabled my anti-virus and firewall altogether. 3. I attempted to run the HSPL Raphael 0.37 and it basically crashed on me. Until I remembered that someone said run it as an administrator. I did that and it brought up the utility screen and then the (Tri Color ) window. and it actually stayed on that screen which it hadn't ever did. At this point I knew something was working. finally it went through the percentage screen to 100% and said that I was successful in updating my rom. at this point I had only unlocked the phone. 4. I then chose Juggalo X rom v.0.5 and ran it and it also completed successfully and quickly. and there you have it a unusual but big problem solved with the ideas and help of all mentioned. Recap: 1. Disable (Enable advanced Network functionality) checkbox 2.uncheck (Ask about connection type when I connect) checkbox 3. Disable Third Party Anti- Virus and Security software ( Kaspersky in my case) 4.Run HSPL as (Administrator) 5. Choose the rom you want to flash and run the utility for it. I hope this helps someone. Re: New Sprint Touch Pro will not update to any ROM
Thats awesome, I am glad to hear you finally got it working! Now, your on Vista 64 so what I am going to suggest next to get your advanced networking functionality to work may or may not work.
Your flashed so there is no risk involved. Go ahead and enable advanced functionality. Click your start button on your computer and right click on Computer. Select Properties. Click Device Manager Remember that at this point you need to already have Advanced Network Functionality enabled on your phone even though your not getting a true connection. What you should see at network adapters in device manager that opened up is probably something like Microsoft Windows Mobile Remote Adapter. There might be an exclamation mark on it as well. I want you to right click that and select uninstall. Keep your phone connected during this as well. Give it about 30 sec or so after it removed it. If it asks anything during the removal such as totally remove driver or something, select yes. Now at the top of device manager, select Action then Scan for hardware changes. If all goes well, Vista will detect your phone again and start searching for drivers. It should install this time without fail. If it does work, you should be able to activesync with advanced functionality enabled and flashing should work well too.

Re: New Sprint Touch Pro will not update to any ROM
Hi guys,
I have Telus 1.04.05V radio installed and I want to try the newest 1.08.25.20M1 radio in my TP but i have tried flashing thru my MicroSD card, I enter into bootloader mode, flash the radio but when I see my radio version after "updating" it is still the telus one... any ideas? it looks like if it were blocked to upgrades or something like this... |

Have you unlocked your phone first by using one of the HSPL files? |

Re: New Sprint Touch Pro will not update to any ROM
There's something wierd with the unlocker. When I unlocked it, the name of the ROM didn't change to the unlocker's name "0.37 HSPL". That freaked me out A LOT even though the tri color screen said "Security unlocked". It freaked me out even more when I decided to flash anyway only to have a ROM install crash on me midway.
For a sec, I really thought I was toast, but luckily reflashing again after running the unlock utility for the third time (I don't know why I had to do that step) worked. |

That is a GSM radio, flash and you will never be able to use your phone again. Check out posts 220 and 221 http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=46616&page=6 Then if you go here http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index...actedRadioRoms you will see that radio number and GSM all over that page. Your phone is a CDMA. The radios are not interchangeable. Last edited by aceracer24; 12-24-2008 at 05:39 PM. |

Re: New Sprint Touch Pro will not update to any ROM
I had this same issue about an hour or so ago... with my girl's verizon touch pro..
Said the first time...that it could not open enter bootloader... blah blah blah... Tried second time wouldnt go... I just kept on trying and it finally worked... She now has the new GPS enabled rom posted on here... When I unlocked my sprint touch pro I had no problems what so ever...On the same computer. Now that I think about it after the first attempt failed I manually put it into bootloader and seen security unlocked which makes no sense what so ever since it never ran anything. LOL. And it was brand new out of the box... uhhh oh well all is good now. |

Re: New Sprint Touch Pro will not update to any ROM
I am having a similar problem as Ali. I have the Sprint Touch Pro I unlocked it successfully and i cooked a rom and flashed it. Once restarted it would not go pass the first boot screen. I thought that I was a goner, i thought i bricked it. Then I found that i can still go to the bootloader mode. So I flashed the original sprint stock rom back and it loaded with no problem. So i try to cook another rom and flash it and I got the same exact results as the first one. Do you guys have any suggestions? I'm running Vista Home Premium iff this matters.
