Re: New Sprint Touch Pro will not update to any ROM
I had similar issues the very first time I tried flashing my original Touch on a Vista computer. Vista can be a pain to be honest. I am going to try and walk you through something that may or may not help/work. But not until I know your current attempt has failed because honestly, it's a long process.
EDIT: Also here is something to keep in mind if running Vista http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...58&postcount=3

Are you currently on a Vista computer? Also, on your phone, go to settings/connections/USB to PC and tell me if Enable Advanced Network Functionality is or is not checked. Last edited by aceracer24; 12-19-2008 at 10:43 AM. |

Re: New Sprint Touch Pro will not update to any ROM
Ya looks like he did. I was going to have him switch to one of the two driver types in windows determed by that setting I posted above. If neither worked, then I was going to have him uninstall both and allow windows to reloacate and install the drivers. It sounds like he connects with active sync but then when it goes through the flash process, the usb disconnects then connects...sounds like his is not reconnecting. Possible driver issue I was thinking..?

Re: New Sprint Touch Pro will not update to any ROM
Some firewall programs are by default paranoid enough to even block USB connections (NOD32 has done this to me). Attempt it again with all firewall software turned off for the duration of the attempted flash. The fact that he's getting errors like this makes me think this could be a connectivity issue.
If you tried it on another machine with the same result, again it might be the same firewall/AV software blocking it. |
