Just finished mine, used RIT black dye and it came out PERFECT!
I used the whole packet of color in about 3 cups of water. I put the stove
between low and medium head (till a very small amount of steam was coming over the water) and place it in there for 15 minutes. I stirred every 15 minutes and viola!!!

Yep, a couple days later and it's pretty much gone. Love it. Just wish my phone would answer calls. That's for a diff. thread though.

So any of you with diamonds, has anyone been able to fade their stock covers? Undye the dye that Sprint used? Just wondering if it's possible, cause if your able to bleach it out or use alcohol to fade it, you could do other colors besides black. Who has an extra cover and wants to try?

ahh no! i left the pot unatended and it cooked my cover to the point of warp! anyone willing to sell me a spare? not having much luck with the sprint stores handing me spares

mine came out perfect, just used a half bottle of the black liquid dye and about 3 cups of water set on medium heat for 15-20 mins. anyone done this and have to redo it because it faded?

From other people's posts, 2-3 months of heavy use seems to be about the time a redo is necessary. Its the corners.
