Re: A $1.48 goes a long way... Black Battery Cover!
To keep the dye from coming off on your hands, buff it after dying with a sock for about 10 minutes. Just sit there and watch tv and do it. You'll be amazed at how it brings more color out too. My black looks almost polarized now.

It seems the fastest way to remove the excess dye was to give it a good wipe down in Rubbing alcohol. Somehow I DID mildly blemish the lens but it doesnt appear to have any effect on picture but if I hold it up to the light there is a mild purple defect on the lower portion. I'm going to try a VERY mild lens solvent to see if I can correct it.

Re: A $1.48 goes a long way... Black Battery Cover!
Just wondering if anyone that has done a few of these wants to do an experiment? i am wondering if you added a little bleach to a pan of water, will it remove the color? or will it lighten the color? Just wondering since many here have said theirs ended up too dark.
I did mine tonight, black, and it turned out great. Brew |

Re: A $1.48 goes a long way... Black Battery Cover!
I just did this for the first time, and it is SOOOOO easy and quick.
I wanted black but Wal-Mart ran out, so I got Navy Blue since people say if you leave it in long enough it will get dark. So I got the darkest color and I left the cover in for a little longer and BOOM! I have a black cover on my sexy diamond with the red stylus. It looks amazing. I was thinking pink but nah.... One question: Can I change its color more than once... Like if i wanted to move from black to yellow, then get bored and move back to black. Is that possible? All on the same cover? Thanks!!!!!!!!!!! |

Just get the Rit Color Remover. It was $1.66 at my local Walmart and it took off the black I experimented with one of my friends Diamond covers. I dont know how we can get a different color other than the stock burgundy or a dyed black cover. I tried blue and it turned it black, I tried sunshine orange and it didnt have any effect either. I even tried color whitener and brightener and that I still didnt get far. Oh yeah you can dye your stylus as well =] I like the burgundy usb charge port, it makes it look unique with the black covers =]

Re: A $1.48 goes a long way... Black Battery Cover!
Hello everyone. So I decided to play around with the dye and create a 2 tone back cover. I had already dyed the back "sun burst orange"! I wanted to bled it with blue to creat the New York Colors. But it did not work out that way. It came out a dark brown color. It actually came out really nice. I really like the way the fade came out!

So did you do a Diamond battery cover or a Touch Pro battery cover? You need to upload your photos to www.Photobucket.com then get the link from Photobucket and paste into PPCGeeks |
