tech elite don't switch carriers, they do what I do & activate a sprint phone on vz service. Then you have the best of both worlds.

I noticed they are calling it the HTC Touch Pro instead of the Verizon Wireless xv6850. Also, is that 128 after they use 64 for the system? Meaning there is really 192 like we thought. Just speculating.

Thanks critical! I'm new to the forums.. so I just need clarification on a few terms... could you define nerfing? and by crippling, do you mean locking the phone only for use on verizon's network?

I'm on alltel and just got the Tpro (former 6800 user). Very satisfied thus far, but will be tweaking to trim the fat - preloaded software, weather cities, etc..

OK.. Well it's up on Verizon's site.. I just dumped my Samsung i760 in favor of this thing. http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/s...edPhoneId=4331

They do not call it the xv6850, they just kept the name "HTC Touch Pro". $349 after MiR right now.

For those of you with i760's - I won't go into the mess that has been this phone here, but suffice to say VZW has pulled the phone and is not giving out replacements, instead opting to switch people over to the xv6800. I was able to convince them to give me the Touch Pro for the difference between the 6800 and Touch Pro ($50, basically).

It's coming 2 Day, so we'll see Here's to early adopting

Well I have to say I am disappointed with the way Verizon did things here but I'm not going to be too picky cuz I'm getting a free one.

Called tech support and they're going to swap out my 6800 for a touch pro but they don't have them in stock to ship replacements until next Monday... he also said the Omnia is coming out on Weds but I prefer sticking with a phone with a keyboard... he didn't mention any price difference so I guess I can't complain too much.. will try the next gimped touch pro next week and see how bad it is. lol

LOL How'd you manage a free one?? I had to convince the hell of out of them to get it for $50, they kept wanting me to "upgrade" to it (i.e. pay the 2 year price all over again) and I said forget it. Ah well, my company will expense the $50 so it's free to me..
