Verizon HTC TOUCH PRO Information

Just out of curiosity, what did you tell verizon to get then to send you a Touch Pro instead of a replacement 6800?

Well I will have to call in again. I think the new XV6800 replacement will be my 6th phone. I have had random buttons not working and consistent bluetooth disconnects to earpieces and carphone. I hope next time I talk to a nicer person. This last guy told me it was all my fault if I carry my phone in my pocket. I told him its designed to be carried their. I dont need to look like a security guard with a walkie talkie!

Ordered my VZW TP today as well. We all have the 30 day no hassle return policy so I will see if I like it. If not I'll get a Sprint model and put it on the vzw network.

In my case, I was dumping a i760. I told them I really didnt' like the 6800, and wanted to see what could be done so that I could get the Touch Pro as a replacement device. I didn't ask them to swap across the table becase - let's face it - the i760 and Touch Pro aren't equivalent phones. I asked them if I could pay the difference between 6800 and Touch Pro ($50) and they agreed... but it took about an hour of time and talking to like 6 people.

If you start with the phone jockeys they'll give you a song and dance that they are only allowed to trade in your phone for a specific model (6800) and that's that... ask to speak to Customer Care. Tell them you are a good customer (you are, aren't you? ) and that you really feel that you should have some choice in what replacement device options you're given because the i760 was pulled due to the problems, and xv6800 is an old model at end of life.

Don't forget that when you convince them to send you a Touch Pro you can also argue for them to replace any accessories (travel charger, car charger, etc) that you purchased directly from VZW. They should do this one free of charge.

I'm so frustrated trying to figure this phone out. Can anyone confirm video out? Also, I noticed that it says no video voicemail -- how come? I'm going back and forth between this and the Sammy Saga. The Saga is a lot cheaper and a world phone, but the specs aren't as good and I haven't seen as many flashable custom ROMs for Sammies. This is expensive, has some annoying aspects, but many great features. Damn. Someone choose for me. At this rate, I'm going to end up bumping along with my 6700 (which I still love) for another year until next year's crop comes in. Then I think, well, if I can do pretty much all I want with the 6700, how far wrong can I go with one of these two?

You still have the Samsung Omnia coming out, so you have alot of options.

yes it has video out, as does the omnia... omnia will be fine if you can live with 128mb ram/256mb rom, 8gb internal storage, microSDHC slot, 3.2" 400 x 240 screen, accelerometer, agps for vznav, visual voicemail, a 5.0MP camera w/ flash, optical mouse, no keyboard, and no custom roms...

I have the Storm ordered but i'm also gonna get the Touch Pro, I can never get enough of my HTC devices, I really want the Diamond from Verizon, anybody know when we can expect the Diamond?
