the new phone has a manf date of 11/17/2008. It is near perfect. no gap, no raised keys. only thing i've noticed is the stiff spacebar and enter key but that is fine. |

Re: Touch Pro Build Date
I got a replacement Touch Pro just this Thursday (I had a 10/19 build Touch Pro that I have to return because of a screen that fried out) this one's build date is 11/21, and I noticed that the keyboard isn't as stiff, and they fixed that annoying problem of the d-pad/scrollwheel not clicking where it's supposed to when you're pressing left or right.
I can't comment on the sliding mechanism being looser or tighter, because I believe my first Touch Pro was fine, but loosened up quite a bit after some miles on it. If it's still this tight after a month or so, then I can say they fixed something... but its the other minor annoyances that they fixed that make me a happy camper! I'm talking about the Sprint version.

Re: Touch Pro Build Date
i can exchange my 10/15 build date phone today no questions asked --
issues i've had: 1. overheating after a 20 minute phone call 2. raised home button i'm wondering if i should just power through it - i could be getting another phone with inferior build quality -- what do you think?

Re: Touch Pro Build Date
Why buy the phone in the first place, if they are all suspect?
![]() P.S. What do you mean by overheating? Do you mean the phone get warm, or so hot is shuts off completely, burns you, makes the screen change colors, melts plastic? Overheat has been used with alot of drama here so the term is not what it means anymore... If it is the former, they all get warm. If it is the later, then you have a bad phone. If you are talking and charging at the same time, try using the USB port from a computer instead of the charger that comes with the phone. Maybe a lower current charge might cause less heat etc... ![]() Last edited by Insoc; 12-08-2008 at 04:46 PM. |

Re: Touch Pro Build Date
Not sure about him, but mine gets too hot to hold. Very annoying. It also stops charging, and ends up having LESS battery than before you started the call, regardless of being on a charger or not.
