I noticed once while it was feeling really hot that mwifirouter picked up on the battery temperature thing and wouldn't let me use it until I unchecked "monitor battery temp" in the options menu. hahah

Re: Heat Heat and more Heat

it does get hot...not warm...HOT when using memory intensive apps i guess....if you don't think it's hot then you guys are clearly not right in the mind...I love the htc touch pro just like the next guy but stop being fanboys.....I even said it in other threads on other forums and get slammed by htc touch pro fanatics or whatever you want to call it....I'm not trying to sway people away from buying it but facts are facts...it gets pretty hot by the camera area under use...not as much for phone calls but when using apps on the phone like listening to music or surfing the web...I'm definitely keeping this phone because I think it has a lot of potential....

I am new to wmwifirouter on the TP (worked on the Mogul) and because of the heat issue, it wouldn't connect. I hadn't played around in the settings much and saw this thread. Thank you!

I've never used a device that has gotten this hot before. I was wondering if I got a bad unit.

Re: Heat Heat and more Heat

::shrug:: It gets hot, sure, but it's got a lot of power going on in there. Honestly, as long as it isn't physically a problem (as far as you holding it) I wouldn't worry.

Like I said, mine never gets hot except for when I'm doing stuff on it and charging it at the same time, then it gets a bit warm. Never REALLY hot though. I wish there was a way to view temps.

Re: Heat Heat and more Heat

Mine runs barely warm. Not really any more warm than my Touch got.

The so-called discoloration is probably just skin oil stains and smudges.

Re: Heat Heat and more Heat

Mine has gotten warm like any other phone.

Honestly, I remember my Mogul getting much hotter, to the point there the LED would flash a weird color and wouldn't hold a charge anymore.

I had the same problem with moguls..it can get pretty hot.. does the TP use a DYNAPACK manufactured battery? the mogul did and dynapack recalled their batteries found in the WING and tmobile gave everyone new batteries for free.. Sprint refuses to do it.. so if its dynapack their batteris are known to overheat
