That is nothing to do with actual device temperature, wmwifi's temp detection is just broken with Tpro...

Mine does not get hot. My macbook pro gets hotter than this, and that isn't even that hot. Some heat is expected, there's a freakin 600mhz cpu and 288mb of ram, plus all the radio chips and such stuffed into a little package with passive cooling. My iPod touch gets almost as warm when messing around with it, playing games and such.

I also agree that I've seen my mogul get MUCH hotter, especially before it failed, it would be running so hot in my pocket it was uncomfortable all the time. It wouldn't even charge, wether turned on or off, because it was so hot. If I let it cool down for an hour or two with the battery out, it would charge for a half hour or so. Once it stopped running so hot it started randomly freezing and rebooting. Heh.

Re: Heat Heat and more Heat

Rofl, it's a powerful device. My laptop gets hotter than this thing does.

Deal with it.

Re: Heat Heat and more Heat

I won't go as far as telling you to deal with it if it concerns you, but personally my touch pro gets nowhere near as hot as my uncles diamond does or even the mogul and 6700 for that matter, but even the diamond as hot as it gets is still a pretty typical amount of heat generated for a mobile device (my samsung a900 and pm-a840 gets hotter than the diamond and they don't do !@#$ lol) so far the touch pro has been one of the coolest running mobile device that iv ever owned, i don't know which was the coolest device... iv owned a lot of devices...

Re: Touch Pro Battery life!!! Post your reviews!!

Has anyone tried ebay batteries on their phone? There are a ton of them for the TP, and cheap. For example,

http://cgi.ebay.com/USB-Cradle-HotSync-Charger-Battery-for-HTC-Touch-Pro-US_W0QQitemZ400004902411QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item40 0004902411&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72:1205| 66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318

Is it safe to get one of these kits?

Re: Touch Pro Battery life!!! Post your reviews!!

I am very happy with the stock battery.

Of course I'd like it to last a bit longer, but as it stands, it lasts every bit as long as the Seidio extended battery lasted in my Touch under similar usage. And that's before any of the battery registry hacks...

Re: Touch Pro Battery life!!! Post your reviews!!

for the past three days, my battery life has not been so great. one reason could be using the phone much more often and trying out all the applications and turning it off and on like every 30 seconds. I took it off the charger at 10:30am and now it is at about 60% at 7:50pm. I didnt really use it that much today either, just 3 phone calls and a few games.

That sounds about alittle better than what I am getting. Not sure if anyone else has this problem, but it seems like the device wakes on its own alot.. IE - When moving in and out of roaming areas or loss of data or cell signal... This will chew away at the batt if you travel alot. Any suggestions?

Re: Touch Pro Battery life!!! Post your reviews!!

Battery life is not nearly as long as the Mogul (1500mAH battery is bigger than TP, or course). I find battery life to be comparable to my Touch. Perhaps a little more. Although I just installed Nuepower to find out for sure.

I ended up buying a spare OEM battery from PCD (Personal Communications Devices, formerly UTStarcom). Not cheap, but not overly expensive at $40 plus about $6 UPS ground shipping. They charge sales tax in NY and CA. Fortunately, it shipped from CA near LA, so I received it the next day.
