As i said in my post that's all I know. My store manager got a n email and past along this tid bit of info to me. If I hear anything else I'll gladly pass it along. I would hope any software/hardware revisions would address Radio/charge/overheat problems. If not there's going to be many 30 day returns. My store alone has had 70% or better returned or exchanged.

I think once someone has a battery explode on them because theyre charging and talking at the same time.. HTC will get the picture then.
I've seen a laptop do this once.

This coincides nicely with the data that my poll is showing. 70% makes sense. I have received two calls today asking how Sprint can "fix" this problem.

They are offering me any phone I want, (but not for free.)

I will tell them, if they can get me the HTC Pro, that works as it should, I will sign my first-born child over.

Otherwise, some phones I can run on AT&T are looking more and more enticing. Plus, simultaneous voice+data is REALLY FREAKING COOL.

Perhaps we could put an insulator between the battery and the phone, (aside from the pins, obviously.)

That could stop the residual heat from the radio, triggering the battery's internal thermal protection circuit---if that is indeed how it works.

Re: Touch Pro Battery life!!! Post your reviews!!

while working for att, the samsung blackjack had the same heat problem. coupled w/ the use of a crappier solder for the antennae, the heat actually melted the solders. making the phone unusable. of course the recall came out a year and a half after the phone itself came out, and 4 months later the blackjack2 came out.

the point of all this is that i am a heavy user of this phone. from navi to using orb to listen to and watch stuff while i work. hell even on breaks im you tubing. i don't waste a single program in this phone. so i only get a 3 hour battery life before it completely shuts off on me. but recently the data signal has been really weak. even gps signal gets weak. now under constant heat... will this issue with the blackjack 1, happen? is this whats going on w/ the phone now?

Battery Issues - Far Beyond Acceptable.

Ok, So I am fairly new here although not new to the ppc world, started with the 6600, then the 6700 most recently the Touch and Just a week and a half ago upgraded (early for $399!!!!) to the Touch Pro.

I had experienced many of the same issues regarding the battery, but I was working with it until some sort of better answer or fix comes down the road.

Unfortunately that all changed yesterday. Since yesterday it will not charge past 30% (even after 8 hours on the charger) today I kept it on my desk and plugged in until I had to leave to a meeting. Within 10 minutes of unplugging it was down to 10% and giving me low battery warnings. 10 MINUTES? Plugged it into my car charger while driving to the meeting and was back to 20% but within a few minutes of the meeting starting it was dead, completely off.

Went to the nearest Sprint Store, they took the phone for an hour and a half only to tell me when I returned that they know about the problem and there isnt anything they can do except replace the phone.... Great or so I thought. He continued with , we dont have any refurbished phones yet to exchange it with and it will be at least 4 to 6 weeks and possibly 2 months until we do. WHAT? I Spend $400 on a BRAND NEW PHONE and they tell me I am stuck with this useless thing until they have USED phones to swap it with? Ok I'm generally pretty reasonable, I realize that 6 months down the road and I lose it or break it I expect a refurbed phone. But not 12 days after buying it brand spanking new (but defective). This is rediculous. So I called in to CS. FWIW I have a pretty beefy plan, 5 lines of service and a data card and have been with Sprint since '98.. She agrees her words were absolutely absurd no way it should take that long... She puts me on hold and comes back and says unfortunately there isnt anything I can do, the only phones we have are for sale and not exchange unfortunately you'll have to wait until the store can provide one.

I'm sorry, generally speaking I've had pretty decent service from Sprint sometimes I thought it could be better, but never bad enough to make me feel like jumping ship. But without a fast resolution to this I'm going to have to. At this point just to maintain contact when I can't be connected to the charger (which is still limiting as it quits charging shortly into a call) I have just gone to Wal-Mart and picked up a prepaid phone to forward my calls to in the interim.. I shouldn't have to do that, truly I shouldn't

Re: Battery Issues - Far Beyond Acceptable.

If you are not happy, then return it. If you are at 12 days, then you are within your 30. Quit bit*chin... There are enough damn "my pro sucks, battery sucks, sprint sucks, I suck" threads out there which you could have just attached your post to.

Seriously... like 30 freaking threads regarding the battery dude.. come on.

Re: Battery Issues - Far Beyond Acceptable.

I'm starting to wonder if anyone on here is actually happy with the Pro, I don't even remember the Mogul having this many negative threads about it.
