Re: Petition?: We need to get HTC to fix this heat/charging issue!!

I don't know if I would be classified as a power user of this phone, but I work from home once or twice a week. More often than not, I end up on a conference call lasting 2 or 3 (ugh) hours. We don't have a land line, so I need this phone to at least charge while I'm on the call. I can probably deal with the heat (no way in hell I will be putting an ice pack on my freaking cell phone) but I can't afford to drop off a call and not be able to at least dial right back in.

Re: Petition?: We need to get HTC to fix this heat/charging issue!!

Damn... this happened to me today! I was on the phone for about 50 minutes and my battery went low and beeped. The phone was rather hot but I DECIDED TO PLLUG it so I could talk longer. 15 minutes later the phone dies. It was pluged in too. This is a major flaw IMFHO.

The LONGER you wait, the MORE chance you will have of getting a refurb. Also, what happens if you call with one second to spare, and get a phone that's worse than your previous, like what happened to me? You will be stuck with the phone indefinitely.

That would suck.

Kevin, once again I would like to apologize for the wait and the inconvenience. When using the phone and the battery getting hot from the use of the phone, this normal. I have been advised that a Cold Pack or Ice pack (As long as it is sealed in plastic) can be placed on the back of the phone. You next question may be, Will this damage the phone? No this will not damage the phone as long as the Cold Pack or Ice Pack is wrapped in plastic. I do understand that some situations may arise where you may not have a Cold Pack or an Ice Pack with you at all time, but that is understandable.
You should reply back and tell them that is the most ridiculous thing you have ever heard, and ask to talk to a manager. That is retarded. The moisture can leak through the plastic, through osmosis, and can damage the phone.

Plus, it's not normal, at all.

Exactly. I might have to pick up the Xperia X1 unlocked, or the iPhone 3G.

I don't think I can leave WM though. I love multi-tasking. That's what is making this so damn hard. If I had never used WM, I would already have the iPhone 3G.

Why won't HTC do anything about this? I got a response from HTC that said it was Sprint's problem. Sprint doesn't know the problem exists, and keeps giving out new phones, which all seem to be affected.

Re: Heat and charging issue. What's our best course of action?

I wrote an email to HTC today to complain ,I'm sure it won't help, but at least I got to vent to the manufacturer who released this pile of crap. I love HTC's phone's, don't get me wrong, but they NEED QUALITY ASSURANCE! and they need to fix these issues BEFORE they release them to the mass market. This happens over and over...

But between OSX, the iPod and the iPhone (and maybe a couple other i-Devices) they really have impressed me. I don't own a single Apple product, nor do I own Apple stock, not that I have to defend myself.

Sometimes the cutting edge is so out there that it isn't ripe enough for production, but people would apparently rather have overpriced, buggy toys than last years (in most cases more reliable) technology. We can thank everyone for creating this market for HTC.

If the phone didn't seem so promising I wouldn't even be here. And that's the rub - that's how they suck you in and keep your attention through it all.

The Pro is in the middle of revisions.. Why there own QC could not catch these problems is beyond me.. I know for sure the chrome is going.. I wish I could find out more, that however is all I honestly know. I sent my TP back. Its a shame...

Do you know something we don't? What do you mean it's in the middle of revisions and that the chrome is going...

Are they making a Pro II?
