Yeah, that's because the battery isn't calibrated/broken in yet.

As always, it depends on usage.
-Friday I used it non-stop from 9pm (factory charge) to around 3am, I was VERY impressed, not a lot of calls though, just data usage, installing apps, testing the gps driving around...
- Saturday. More calls little less data use, I do have email to update on Imap4 checking every 5 mins. dead by 7pm. Just a few calls too. Not so impressed anymore
- Sunday. Few calls, little data use (other than the email and about 30 mins of youtube streaming), battery still has 20% on it. Seems like to me voice calls are consuming battery life a lot more than data...

Over all much better than the mogul on the standard battery..

I have already run some of my default reg entries, so I'm not sure if the Touch Pro has the power saving hacks already in place. If someone would be so kind as to check these registry settings and let me know if they exist and are set the way indicated below by default.

I have included a cabbed version of the battery hacks which basically sets a few registry settings. When I used these on my Mogul, they made a HUGE difference in my battery life.

If you want to do them manually, here they are:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\AsyncMac1\Parms]
Default value type and value are
“DisablePowerManagement”=dword:1
Change to
“DisablePowerManagement”=dword:0

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\Irsir1\Parms]
Default value type and value are
“DisablePowerManagement”=dword:1
Change to
“DisablePowerManagement”=dword:0

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\PPTP1\Parms]
Default value type and value are
“DisablePowerManagement”=dword:1
Change to
“DisablePowerManagement”=dword:0

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\L2TP1\Parms]
Default value type and value are
“DisablePowerManagement”=dword:1
Change to
“DisablePowerManagement”=dword:0

I looked and these hacks are NOT in place on the stock TP rom. The second for Irsir1 doesnt exist on mine, most likely since the pro doesnt have IR.

Well, i took my phone off the charger at 2:30 so i could get to work by 3. i made about 5 calls and sent about 50 texts while i was there, i also streamed a movie off the internet for 25 minutes on my break. i just got home and its 12:54, i have 80%-ish battery left. doing the same on my touch, the phone would be dead before i got home. I'd say I am very happy with the battery life on my Touch Pro!

Damn, you must have had a crappy battery on your Touch or something. I would use my Touch constantly and still have about 30% battery left at the end of the day.

I got my Touch Pro on Friday and I haven't turned off my Touch yet, and it still has 30% battery left lol. Granted, it's 3 days of standby time, but still impressive.

Sounds like most of you guys are happy with the battery life. I think I'm going to take the plunge and get me one too. Thanx for your comments.

My phone has been off the charger for 6 hours and still at 90%, granted I've only sent/received a few texts, checked the weather, and tethered for about 10 minutes, but this is about the same usage as my Mogul got. Battery life seems like it'll work out fine for me.

Can anyone confirm whether or not the Pro uses the same battery as the Diamond? (Sprint version of both phones)
