Re: Touch Pro Battery life!!! Post your reviews!!

So far seems pretty bad, I have to say, but about what I had with the Mogul until I got my extended battery. By about 11:00 this morning I was below 50%. To be fair, I'm using it more because it's exciting, but there are days I use it a lot normally. So this is a fair judgment.

Still, I expected this going into it. I needed to buy the Seidio battery for the Mogul to make it fully usable and I'll need to do the same for this one. So be it.

If it has the same battery as the DIAMOND, then EXPECT a whooping 4 hours of nonstop web usage with music in the backgroung. (mp3). Test I did with the Diamond.

same as any other WM phone, 4-4.5 hours thats all they get. the only one that might last a little longer is the mogul simply because the battery is physically larger (1500 vs 1340 in the diamond/pro). Original touch and the 800w are both slim of battery life. Thats just what you get when you buy a PPC.

Edited for correctness.

I've seen W-CDMA PPCs hit 4-5 hours of talk time and 5-7 in EDGE versus HSPA mode.

CDMA is just a huge power hog... Most talk time I've ever gotten out of my Mogul was probably 3-3 1/2 hours... Probably not even that.

Re: Touch Pro Battery life!!! Post your reviews!!

well yeh i was implying CDMA of course since were mostly all on sprint with Pro's

but people have high expectations of every device that comes out and want it to do more and more and last twice as long and its simply not possible. More "stuff" = less batt life.

I need more time with it, but it looks as if it is the same as my Mogul was. I'm sure I'm draining it because I can't keep my hands off the damn thing... LOL!

Poor battery life--- "touch" related?

I know it is early in the game, but several people have complained about battery life on both the diamond and pro. I remember back in the early 6700 days that someone created a battery usage meter and forum members did tons of testing on what apps used the most power. If I am remebering correctly, selecting entries via the touch screen used a lot more power than when using the d-pad or hard buttons. Given that these phones are so touch-3d and finger scrolling oriented, could that be the culprit for the poor battery life? I'm wondering if we would experience much better battery life going back to a standard today screen, and using the d-pad more than the touchscreen, rather than the touchflo 3d plugin. Anybody try this or have any thoughts?

Re: Touch Pro Battery life!!! Post your reviews!!

I've had my phone for about a day now and it's been alright so far but I definitely need to wait a week or so to see how well it performs. BTW is anyone else having trouble getting their phone to charge up all the way? The ring around my dpad gets solid but the phone will only show 92% charge. I'm using the charger from my Touch, anyone think that might be causing the battery to not charge all the way?
