well for one he is just a contact... For 2 I have tried and tried to get a "spare" phone but they are allowed 1 for testing and development. And another amount for the lab. 3. NDA??? he can only hand down the information he is allowed to hand down. and of course its all subject to change but he has never given a date for something unless it was a "very good" chance for sure that it would be that date.

I was put in contact when i went to the top of the food chain for my Mogul problems by the VP of Research and Development for Sprint.

What exactly more information do you really need on it? Everything it can do has been posted at least 10 times already... Just because he says he has a contact doesn't necessarily imply they are 'friends' in the sense you are thinking either. I am pretty sure any info this inside guy has is supposed to be confidential - hence the reason we haven't heard it direct from Sprint.

I mean really, if Sprint comes out and changes the official date to 11/2 now, then down the line find more things they need to patch/fix, then have to push the date back again - can you imagine the uproar? Give them a chance to work it out internally... it will be released eventually and when it does you will love it just as much, late or not.

If you want pics, there are several on Engadget and some other news sites - not to mention numerous Youtube videos out there too.

exactly WTH do we need more pics of it for? There are PLENTY of pics in here and vids on youtube from the trade show to show what it has- basically the exact same phone as the diamond hardware wise with a sd slot and keyboard. Just because you dont believe him doesnt mean he has to take pics and possibly get his buddy in trouble to prove anything to you. A store employee has already posted somewhere in this forum that the Pro isnt in the October playbook they just got, and have a few phones releasing on the 16th with no Pro mention, so this rumor is far for unsubstantiated.

100% agree live in the bed you made. If you bought a Diamond and the Pro really is delayed thats your own problem for not waiting and thinking youd play the system to have 2 new $600 phones, one as a "loaner" for 30 days. I dont feel bad for any of those people, and cant wait for the next thread of whining and crying to CS to get swapped after 30 days. This is exactly why people who got it in a legit way with all intentions to keep it suffer with refurbs thanks to these people thinking theyll get temp phones and then just return them.

I don't think anyone is planning on seeing these phones in stores in October.. The big question is if the phones are going to be released to telesales on the 19th, or if that has been pushed into November.

so are people already (allowed) to pre-order the Touch Pro? Because from what it sounds like, a couple people gave Retentions / EVP their credit card info. and then got some kind of confirmation....? How exactly will this work on the 19th? Also, when does TELESALES open? Just call and tell them you want the Touch Pro and they will get your information and ship it within a day or two? I am very excited for this phone; I have been looking forward to it for AWHIIIIIIILE now.
