Whic AIO are you running? GPS needed some more recent kernels that would be in the latest package.

If the icon's coming up in the notification bar, you're probably pretty close. Try sfhub's gps.conf changes (I think one of the file explorers has a built in text editor that you can use on /data/etc/gps.conf) or reboot into WinMo, turn on GPS, get a lock, and then boot into Android. That might help.

There are some files you can try in the attached SprintGPS.zip

eclair.user.conf -> andboot/conf/eclair.user.conf
gps.conf -> andboot/gps.conf

Run haret.exe and during startup it should place the Sprint-specific gps.conf in /data/etc

Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro -- Now working on Verizon! And with GPS!

havent been able to get the GPS icon to show up again, it was doing it previously but nothing now, i tested gps in winmo and it is working, i tried unzipping the attached file into the appropriate directories you mentioned.. any more suggestion?

EDIT: ok after installing the gps.zip and then rebooting twice the gps started working after a long wait but still wont work for the weather widgets and such, but at least it found my location.

Try google maps. It will keep trying even if there is no initial lock. Some other apps might quit too early.

Also, gps can take anywhere from 8sec to 5+min to lock. It just depends on the conditions and whether the assist servers are available.

The GPS assist uses your data connection, so that needs to be working also. You might try running an app to open the data connection first before running an app that uses gps.

1) Get Ubuntu
2) Set up your system per Google Android Source page
3) The Directions above the java package wasn't found so you'll have to look for it
3b) Extract the Java file type 'sh ./jdk-1_5_0_xx-linux586.bin'
3c) move the extracted folder to /usr/local 'sudo mv jdk1.5.0_xx /usr/local/'
3d) change to /usr/bin and link java javac from the sdk 'ln -s ../local/jdk1.5.0_xx/bin/java...'
3e) export JAVA_HOME=/usr/loca/jdk1.5.0_xx
3f) export ANDROID_JAVA_HOME=$JAVA_HOME
4) Get the Android Source tree (You can pick. Main Branch Or Stinebds Tree)
5a) cd ~/(your android directory)
5b) export TOP=$PWD
5c) make -j2
5) Boot it using the ext2 file or use Squashfs to make a sqsh file.

Good luck! I had a link that showed how to patch your ubuntu system but I can't seem to find it right now.
Made my steps more clear for a FYI

Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro -- Now working on Verizon! And with GPS!

This is f'ing stupid. Running haret STILL keeps freezing my phone. I'm using the latest AIO, I'm using the right startup.txt, and I've re-downloaded the AIO and re-tried many times. I'm going to backup my SD card, then put andboot back on and see if that works. If that doesn't, then **** it because I'm out of ideas.

you may just have a file that was corrupted. i would delete everything and start over with a whole new package, but this is just a fix-all of sorts. before i can really give any advice i need to know where it is freezing.
The bar fills up full then boom, frozen.
