Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro (RAPH800)
Nope. Hopefully soon, but don't hold your breath the devs don't seem too keen on it yet...

If it worked with previous builds that is perplexing... I'd try another card *just* to be sure. Also, perhaps you could try another format (I know, lame) with the HP format tool. On another topic, Makk! Could you add the MJGDroid Updater to your build? The app makes you think it's just for RHOD, but it just downloads zImage/modules, rootFS and initrd.gz for people. Then we can just make sure they're running that app before launching HaRET and stop worrying about what stuff they're running!!! Last edited by arrrghhh; 05-07-2010 at 10:22 PM. |

Of course, the data.img file on the sd card is just an ext2 partition written to a file. So, as long as the file can be placed at a known offset in the nand, that shouldn't be too much trouble. (I'm saying 'shouldn't' as if I've got any command of the technical issues involved -- I don't. There might be huge issues I don't know about.) Quote:
And, yeah, I was talking about the gsm raph lightweight rom. Sorry to be unclear on that. I don't believe there's a cdma version, and I don't think anyone from the cdma side of things has done any testing on any flashing issues. But reading from the nand works on cdma just as well as gsm (I know because the wifi mac address is already read from the nand). |

Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro (RAPH800)
ah yeah i remember dzo, i used to be lucky enough to have a device that could run some of his cool vogue stuff
looking at tinboot now, looks easy enough to adapt the variables, i know their values by memory, but im no kernel guy so i have no idea what will be required to make a hermann board file for hw initialization. a lightweight rom to redirect to storage card haret boot is seriously a matter of 1 hours work. on the gsm rom, i know he replaced shell32.exe's init key with haret.exe. easy, but i wonder what packages he then removes. thanks for the info, im pretty busy at work lately but maybe will spend some time soon. sprint replaced my TP with a TP so im looking for new alternatives. i love the android port, so much its almost worth just buying a huge battery for fulltime use. |
This post has been thanked 1 times. |

Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro (RAPH800)
odd thing i noticed over the weekend. after awhile my phone would almost freeze for about 5 seconds. after it comes back on the back button turns my screen off. requires a reset to fix. did this on a few different occasions. nothing i could tell would trigger it. had it happen about 5 minutes after a reset and about a day after a reset.
battery is still well under 8 hours for me but this is the most useable i have seen it yet. also threw a version on my g/f's diamond. she tried it throughout the weekend. her biggest complaint (other than the obvious not working stuff) was the battery. other than that pretty much everything worked right. she ran it for about 2 days until her diamond locked up on her and she needed to restart.

I've decided to go fulltime use with it anyway. If the battery bugs have been worked out...I'll be ecstatic! |
