Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro (RAPH800)

I've only had that happen once. Normally it will charge for me if it's turned off and on the charger (or USB, as far as I'm aware). I don't know what the cause of that crazy battery drain is, or if it's something new to the current kernels.

Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro (RAPH800)

Overall, with most of the builds, I have noticed that WiFi and anything 3D, or other graphic intense app, seem to suck the battery down rather fast compared to WinMo (not a surprise as the devs are still working on everything). I would usually empty my 1500mAh battery in under 5 hours while at class, and have to swap my stock 1350 in to get me through until I got home. With the old build (2-18 I think) I would have to replace the battery after about 2-3 hours. That is with WiFi on most of the time, but hardly any 3D/graphic intense apps running. As I don't have working 3G (carrier issue, not APN issue) I need WiFi access at school.

With the new build, and WiFi turned off (didn't need it yesterday), I went all 5 hours, and then some, and the battery was only around 50%. I tried the old build with WiFi turned off before and it was still ready for a battery swap shortly before I headed home. So, it appears to me (without doing more in-depth testing) that the non-WiFi power usage has improved a lot, while the WiFi power usage has improved a little. I won't have another 5 hour block until Monday, so I can see how long it lasts there with normal WiFi usage then, if another update isn't released in the mean time.

Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro (RAPH800)

Has anyone on cellular south gotten a stable 3g connection? I cant get nothing more than maybe 10 secs and then it locks up and goes away. Ive tried APN as internet, and even #777. I just want my 3g to work

Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro (RAPH800)

I've been running nothing Android 1 days 17 hrs 22 mins..woohoo!. I'm not having the charging problems..though it does take about twice as longer to charge in Android than WinMo. I'm using the new packaged attached with 3G friendly rootfs. Getting about 6-9 hrs of use on a full charge depending on usage with syncing enabled. Google map's "My Location" only works when I'm connected to Wifi..kinda strange I think..and its always in the center of my town..guessing thats where the tower is that i'm connected too.

Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro (RAPH800)

Or it's just basing it off your IP address from your ISP? I don't know if it does that sort of thing, but it would make sense if it did.

Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro (RAPH800)

I had that problem before too, where it would only work with WiFi turned on. I agree it would make sense if it based it off your ISP's location, but mine was showing my actual location, as close as a tower trace can get anyways, while my IP's 'location' is listed in a town about an hour away. No idea how it is getting it's data.
