so my replacement tp was to be here yesterday or today, i never got confermation email and i called sprint replacement team. they discovered that the order was made but never completed, so the lady went thru and straightened it out and before completion asked if the tp is what i really wanted. i asked what my options were and she told me the snap, palm, or any color bb i choose, they are trying to get upgrades to those with dated devices they no longer carry. i asked if the tp2 was a choice and she said no, if it was it would have been first suggestion. she completed my order, got confermation email and my refurbed tp1 should be in on monday. good times. htc stopped making wm devices for sprint and android seams to take the lead. want a new device, can't see coughing up 5 bills for a tp2 just to have a wp7 device to hit in next 6 months and shell out up to 9 bills if they sell that high.

Went to a ASC, they refused to help me after several replacements, all gone bad...said I need to go to a Corporate Repair center. I went the very long distance, and they refused to give me a TP2. They offered me a Snap, and a Pre...nothing else. The technician wanted to give me a TP2, but then the supervisor stepped in and said "oh no, we don't give those away". The technician tried to reason with him but the supervisor wouldn't budge. So, I took the Pre over another lame TP1 piece of garbage. And let me tell you...I love this phone! No, its not as hackable...but at least it doesn't overheat after a 30 min phonecall. Actually, it doesn't feel hot at all. Plus WebOS has a sweet interface.

So I called up and was finally awarded my TP2. I did have someone clear up some things a I figure I share with you.

So obviously, if you dont have TEP or the 1 yr mfg warranty, you are sh*t of of luck. You would have to go through ascurion if you did the damage.

He told me that since i have TEP, that I had 3 replacements in 6 mos and that I obviously couldnt break the keyboard in only 2 mos, I would get a new one.

The key is knowing your rights as a customer. Contrary to the beliefs of some, paying $7 a month for the TEP actually does entitle us to this device. Sprint sent me 3 refurbs that all died after spending 300 on the initial device. I told them that the TP isnt working out and the refurb thing isnt either. Then voila.


-DONT let them convince you that there is nothing that can be done over the phone. It can, but the first customer service rep cant help you. I went to tech support that also tried to convince me that she couldnt either. Then I insisted that I need to speak with ATS. At that point, as soon as i said keyboard, she then kindly read me my choices. As the main warehouse is out of stock in TP2s, you would need to find a store with one.
-DO have them write a note on your acct so you are able to go to a Sprint store with a repair center to pick up your phone.

Hello. I would like to say that I am not a hater nor am I a unbeliever. I have had a Touch Pro from Sprint sense it was first released. I love it and I love the many custom ROMS and utilities that are offered in this wonderful forum. In fact, I pretty much live like a caveman with the exception of my touch pro and a vintage laptop. I have no internet, home phone, cable, or satellite.

I flashed the Sprint update ROM and relocked my Touch Pro as instructed. The phone is back to its' original bland, lack luster self and it is relocked. It is preforming like a champ. I even put the stock radio back on it. I kept it like that for a week and decided to flash a better radio and relock it again. I did this just for better signal streighnth while waiting for the big fail. Well, here I am two weeks and five days later and its' still going strong, stable and reliable.

What have I done wrong? Was putting a different radio on it after just one week my mistake? Will changing the radio even effect the "bug" that will eventually make it fail? The date on the MR update is 9-25-2009. Is this the correct date or has the MR update been revised and fixed? Like I said before. I am pretty much living like a caveman with the exception of an old laptop tethered to my Touch Pro. I would love to have an old laptop tethered to a new Touch Pro 2 instead.

I wonder if Sprint had HTC revise the MR update? My phone works like a champ too. It's reliable, fast and has very long battery life. Although I want a Touch Pro 2 pretty bad, if no problems present themselves, I am not going to push the issue. I did notice that when I looked at the, "Device Information," under settings, system, the ROM version is 2.01.651.6 and the ROM date is, 07/27/09. This is rather confusing when the MR update ROM download, in the site given to us on the first post, reads 09.25.2009.

In fact the MR update actually fixed a few random issues I was having with my Touch Pro.

damn, i mean really. get over yourself. I had my 6th touch pro fixed today @ the store & you dont hear me quoting law to someone that doesnt even live in my state.

Not Sprint, but I just got mine ordered, told VZW I was sick of getting replacements for the same piece of crap. It'll be here wed......
