***DO NOT PRIVATE MESSAGE ME ABOUT THIS*** if you have to ask me "what exactly did i tell sprint" then obviously your devices arent messing up for you.. i may be abusing the system here, but every device i claim in, has the MR update downloaded and all experience the same list of issue everytime.. i dont make faulty insurance claims, and neither should you..

Decided to re-write because people need things a little simplier..

1. download and flash this SPRINT MR UpdateROM from HTC here http://www.htc.com/us/support/touch-...int/downloads/

2. play around for a little bit, and log your new found clitches. it sometimes takes a few resets to get the bugs a moving, but they should stand out..
-no, i will not tell you what they are. i have to leave some work for you guys lol

3. call the above Tech Support # above and descirbe your new issues
-if you talk about flaking chrome, youll get reffered to the store and "flaking chrome" is listed in the system as cause being "dropped".. theyll just call it cosmetic, so forget about that BS issue anyways..

4. chose between a HTC Snap, BB, X-forget device name, or a Touch Pro2(TP2 is not always available)

5. ENJOY your free upgrade

Since people seem to question the ability to do this, im gonna spend the late evening tonight, posting all the links to comments i can find on PPCG where people put in a claim, any claim(paid or advanced exchanged) and recieved a free upgrade.. then the Haters can kick rocks.. whether you use my method above, or just have issue on your TP1 in general.. you are entitled to a replacement or an upgrade, if you have TEP.. its UPTO YOU, to figure out which youll settle for..

This worked initally for a friend that wanted me to make his phone call for him on his faulty TP1 after the MR update.. i then put it on my remaining TP1s and claimed them in as well... they made great xmas gifts to my dad, and each of my sisters.. thats 4x right there i pulled this off... i now take the hustle a bit farther and repeat its process as often as TP2s or PREs(PREs sell well) are available.. which has only been 2 more times since the post orginated....but I IN NO WAY ENCOURAGE ANYONE TO GO TO THE EXTENT I DO..

This is for people who download the MR UPDATE AND EXPERIENCE ISSUES WITH IT ONLY.. yes, theres other things that will warrant the same result, a free upgrade, but my particular thread is about using the old MR update..

I just did an online claim via the Asurian website.. They had no option for Internal/Computer failure so I filed the claim under an irrelevant category. I'll shoot an update to let you guys know how it went. I'm not too good at tryin to tell someone what's "wrong" over the phone. Assurian also claims to be faster at handling an online claim rather than one over the phone..

so they ordered it for while it was out of stock? they tell me to keep calling the @$@# store and ask if its available to order so I do and its been out for a week now.

I called them today in hopes of not having to wait for it to be in stock. the only way they replace it with a TP2 is if the one you have now is already a replace "from Asurian"

I have a refurbed TP from asurion which I got a couple months ago. But they said that it was my last claim I could make until february, will this still work. And who do you call Sprint or Asurion

you guyys need to realize, Sprint and asurion are 2 completely different and independent entities... SPRINT IS NOT ALLOWED TO GIVE REFUB TP1s http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/attachment...8&d=1255230959

asurion however will give you refurbs all day long without even second guessing it... that memo is not for Asurion

**for last poster above... you get 3claims in a rollinf 12month period... advanced exchages do not count as insurance claims, but still has the same 12 month rolling cycle as well it seems... i ahd sprint tell me one a while back had to goto store, because of that crap too...if thats the case, just go in... make sure you have a bug or 2 or youll just get hard reset and told to go home

alright well the online claim was unsuccessful. The website had no option for anything other than physical damage, lost or stolen. I called up sprint an after waiting forever, I was able to use the htc rom excuse to get them to send me another phone. Unfortunately for me, they did not have the TP2 as an option for replacement. Like earlier said they had the Blackberry, and HTC Snap I guess they restocked on Touch Pro's because it was now an option for replacement.. so.. i guess im stuck for now.. ah well, post has been thanked anyway.
