Re: How to get iGo8 run on TP2 with TTS enable and 2009 NA Maps (step by step guide)

Garmin XT? That is the worst GPS software. I only use it when oversea bc all the map are open source. In USA, I use iGo8. TomTom is fair.

I have to say, even though I have had iGo8 working w/TTS for many months on this device (and before on my Vogue w/out TTS), I'm liking the newest Bing. I hardly ever use iGo8 anymore.
Voice-command is GREAT! Just what Co-Pilot promised to be but never delivered.

Now, if I go to Mexico again, I won't want to use Data with Bing. Then I will go back to iGo8 w/TTS.

The problem with Bing or Google is they're data dependent. So they're just too unreliable in many areas because of the crappy phone service.

Re: How to get iGo8 run on TP2 with TTS enable and 2009 NA Maps (step by step guide)

Got it all working

Heres tts files whuch works on my TP2. Supposedly TP2 may run out ot mem loading higher quality tts. I don't notice much different myself.

http://anonym.to/?http://www.uploadj..._TTS_US_UK.zip

Heres link for the complete data.zip and branding.zip in more different resolutions than anyone could ever use:

http://rapidshare.com/files/28730330...ed_TomSoft.rar.

i use the first sys.txt of this thread and it works fine. Was actually tested on latest igo8.3.4.ver from nov 09.

It would be good if for these thread,an op or someone can make a sticky w/ all the good update essential file link @ beginning of thread to save everyone time

Re: How to get iGo8 run on TP2 with TTS enable and 2009 NA Maps (step by step guide)

Hey guys.

I'm running Igo8 8.3.4 (Nov 3, 2009) on a Touch Pro with NFSFAN 1.05 ROM.

When I disable Sense UI, TTS works perfectly with Susan v169 (Mod 2.69), or Dave v1.69 (mod 2.69).

As soon as I enable Sense UI, TTS stops working altogether. The basic voices still work, Dave, Amy 1.1, and Jason 1.2.

When I enable Sense and have Igo8 running, I still have 93MB free RAM. When I close Igo8 and just have Sense UI running, I have 113MB free.

Any ideas how I can keep Sense UI running and have TTS working?

Thank you.

you can try my set of tts files. 0ther than that, I myself not sure, even about memory being the only issue since igo8.3 on my mio C320 w/ 40 mb ram free works finew/ all the tts files
