Re: How to get iGo8 run on TP2 with TTS enable and 2009 NA Maps (step by step guide)

I have a question about the Gurjon skin (yes, I read the manual first).

I cannot add anything to favorites. At the end of the selection (either POI or address), there is no option to add to favorites. I can add only routes. Any advice.

Thanks.

i can't get the 480_800 skins to show up in my options. i have the 480_800 settings in sys.txt, but the only skins that show up in the actual program are the skins with lower resolution. anybody have any ideas what could be causing this?

Solved my problem installing mods to already installed IGO 8 (same version).

The sys.txt file being used was on the Device, not on the Storage Card with the rest of the installed files. (IGO 8 was installed partially to the Device by default.)

It's working really great.

Re: How to get iGo8 run on TP2 with TTS enable and 2009 NA Maps (step by step guide)

I am having trouble getting my TTS voices going.

I copied all the files as instructed in the first post, and everything else is workign fine (maps pois, lang)

I go into regional settings and click on either dave or susan, and they "load" but then they never say a word, not even the test phrase that is supposed to play when you choose the voice in regional settings. I also tried it whiel navigating, to no avail.

Anyone had this issue before? I can use some older voices I have, but they don't do TTS

Ok I know this may have been asked hundred of times already but, where do I even download the NA iGo program I could really use a GPS program that has been praised as a very good one Is there a free one or a paid one? Like where can I even download the North American program itself, on the site all I see available is are the European ones.

Any help will be thanked.

Re: How to get iGo8 run on TP2 with TTS enable and 2009 NA Maps (step by step guide)

Just finished reading through all this.

I've been playing around getting iGo8.3.4 working on my Verizon Touch Pro over the last couple of days.

After much tinkering, I came to figure out that TTS with HQ Suzan v1.84 and Dave v1.74 doesn't really work for me. I think the High Quality packages take up too much memory, at least for me.

The original package/instructions I used had a lower quality (and I can definitely tell there's a difference) TTS version of Dave and Suzan (and the UK ones, though it crashes when I try to use Simon).

If I stick with those packages it works fine.

I don't know if those voices are included in any of the links from the OP, but has anyone tried it with just the default TTS voices?

If not, I have a 146MB zip with just my loq.dll files, my tts_loq folder and my content/voice folder. Let me know where to put that file and I will.

I think that'll fix all of your problems with TTS.

In other words, don't use the HQ Suzan v1.84 and Dave v1.74 voices or newer .dlls and just use the older, original, lower quality voices and .dlls.

That works for me all the time now and my device has less memory (I think) than the TP2.

Ok. Here's the link.

http://www.MegaShare.com/1643545

Just make sure you delete your TTS_Loq and content/voice folders first, just to be sure it's all clean.

Let us know how it works out.

I was able to download everything except the Extension.rar from the skin, anyone know if it is posted anywhere else besides rapidshare?

EDIT: Nevermind, found it posted in a previous post
