Re: How to get iGo8 run on TP2 with TTS enable and 2009 NA Maps (step by step guide)

Just finished reading through all this.

I've been playing around getting iGo8.3.4 working on my Verizon Touch Pro over the last couple of days.

After much tinkering, I came to figure out that TTS with HQ Suzan v1.84 and Dave v1.74 doesn't really work for me. I think the High Quality packages take up too much memory, at least for me.

The original package/instructions I used had a lower quality (and I can definitely tell there's a difference) TTS version of Dave and Suzan (and the UK ones, though it crashes when I try to use Simon).

If I stick with those packages it works fine.

I don't know if those voices are included in any of the links from the OP, but has anyone tried it with just the default TTS voices?

If not, I have a 146MB zip with just my loq.dll files, my tts_loq folder and my content/voice folder. Let me know where to put that file and I will.

I think that'll fix all of your problems with TTS.

In other words, don't use the HQ Suzan v1.84 and Dave v1.74 voices or newer .dlls and just use the older, original, lower quality voices and .dlls.

That works for me all the time now and my device has less memory (I think) than the TP2.
