Re: Sprints matches Big reds TP2 price!
I called many many times. I even called straight to retentions and still didnt get anything. Today i called telesales and asked to have the price match. The lady transferred me to i think... customers service? Anyways there was no fuss she just billed 199.99 + tax to my account and the phone is being shipped. So all i can see is keep trying like everyone else has been saying.
Thanks for the post and everyones help! |

Re: Sprints matches Big reds TP2 price!
I don't like the different bickering on who is supposedly lying or telling the truth in their posts. I geneerlly read the board and post when I can help or if I have a question.
I just try to do my paert in the community. so for those who believe my post, great. for those who may not, I respect that as well. I just got off phone with Acct Services. I still have TP1. I'm in a call center environment as well so I can reall appreciate the help I received from the rep I just spoke with. I called and asked about the price match concern with Verizon's price. I have multiple lines. 3 eligible for upgrade. My line will be in 1 month lol. The Rep pushed my eligibility for upgrade to be effective today. She placed my order for TP2 at Verizon's price match. And she also gave me a free Airave with free basic service due to me moving. I now get no reception in my new home. I have to leave the house just to talk. So I'm a happy camper so far. |

Re: Sprints matches Big reds TP2 price!
Same here guys -- I called at least 4-5 times and did online chat 3 times today alone, about 5 in total. Only one phone conversation went well but the department to credit me was not open. One chat went well saying that they do price match, but they wanted me to call in, couldn't do it over chat.
One email to ecare and I was set. Took a couple of hours for them to credit my account. Pretty crazy ordeal and to see the wide array of knowledge between different departments. Congrats to everyone who got it. Keep trying everyone. ----------- EDIT: Here is my total deal $599-$150(2 year upgrade)-$150(price match)-$70(loyalty discount)-$100(Mail in rebate) = $129 in total. SCORE! So happy it's over. Last edited by AVakil; 10-01-2009 at 04:52 PM. |

Re: Sprints matches Big reds TP2 price!
Ok, I was waiting for today to try and here is what happened:
Called into retentions and asked for the price match, and they sent me to the employee referral reps and I asked again for the price match and threatened to go with Verizon (since I had just bought the phone on the 26th), then the employee referral rep sent me to customer care, which told me that they would price match but it may not be approved because I wasn't a corporate account, so they sent me to the web sales reps saying they had a better chance at success (which I realize the customer care rep was just trying to get me to someone else cause he didn't want to handle it), then the web sales reps sent me to customer care reps again, and they basically said they would price match and it would take 5 - 7 days to show up. Which leaves me with an uneasy feeling. I will give them a few days and call back just to make sure. My conclusion is that, for now, it really is only for corporate accounts. That doesn't mean you can't threaten to leave them for Verizon and get a credit, because I'm sure a $150 credit isn't worth losing your $1200+ for 2 years. Re: Sprints matches Big reds TP2 price!
I emailed them today and got response back in about 4 hours. This is what he told me to do. Sweet! I tried about 8 times echat, email, calling and had no luck until now. Keep trying and one good rep will help you out. Good luck Sprint users.
Dear XXXXXX, Thank you for contacting Sprint. I am happy to assist you regarding the Price March. We are matching Verizon’s prices for the Touch Pro 2 at $199.99 with a 2-year contract. The reduced price of this phone will not be reflected online. You need to purchase the phone at the current online price and reply us after activating the phone, we will apply the necessary credit to match the price of this phone. Thank you again for contacting Sprint. We appreciate your business. Sincerely, XXXXXXXXX Customer Service Specialist Sprint |

Re: Sprints matches Big reds TP2 price!
Ater seeing this thread I called Sprint right away. I was pissed since I just two weeks ago tried to get them to price match and I was told "It is Sprints policy to never price match a competiters phone". After several failed attempts I gave up.
So anyway, I called about 2 hours ago and they said that they just started price matching and I could get the phone for $199 flat fee no MIR required or allowed. One thing I can say though that I found odd was that it was specifically mentioned by the rep that I am a Gov employee. That said, the account isn't a Gov account. So the fact that I am a Gov employee may be why I could get the discount without the account being a corp account.

Re: Sprints matches Big reds TP2 price!
Well..I got shot down. The Chat Rep I talked to said that the price match was for corporate accounts only. Then he pointed out that the phones were $599.99 after I told him I had bought two and paid $350 each after MIR (that I haven't seen yet) plus the $150 per phone for new phones.

Re: Sprints matches Big reds TP2 price!
I chatted with someone over echat and they first quoted me $349.99 so I asked if this was including the Verizon price match. She said let me look then came back with $199.99 with the price match. I wanted to get it right then and there but couldn't since my account isn't eligible for an upgrade until november 1st. Then I get $150 off. $50 for a Touch Pro 2? Sweet. I'm chomping at the bit for November 1st to get here.

Re: Sprints matches Big reds TP2 price!
I spent weeks calling Sprint and trying to get Customer Relations to match Verizon's price. After seeing all the talk about the price drop that was supposed to happen today, I decided to call Sprint yesterday:
I was able to get the TP2 for $199 without any rebates from Customer Relations after getting the supervisor to approve it. I also was able to renew the "contract" on two of the lines on my account (Family Plan), so I only ended up paying $60 plus $12 for express overnight shipping. My phone shipped at 1:30am and is on a truck for delivery right now. |
