Retentions does have alot of power but there is only so much they can do, for instance they are limited on the amount of credit they can give. also they are usually only willing to help if they think you are really going to cancel, the reason that is, is because the rep on the phone doesn't want to do the disconnect, it directly affects his/her paycheck. i ordered my phone full price and had it billed to my account because i was going to buy it with or without a discount. When they called me back they gave the $500 + credit on my account instantly to make it so i only paid $50. I was given that idea because 3 people before had got the $150 credit and said it was the best way to go, im so glad that i did now.

Re: Official TOTAL price you paid for Pro2

Called retentions the other day, got $100 credit, even before buying the phone. Called yesterday to place the order, got to the upgrade and shipping charges, couldn't give it to me free, very calmly said, nope, forget it, cancel the order, your already charging me $150 more than Verizon, I go there on Friday. Put on hold, manager gets on, charged me $12 for shipping, $18 activation (already credited the $12 and the $18 even though the $18 is on next months bill), and said if she finds info confirming Verizon's price, she will credit the account. Called today, gave them the link for VZW's price, got the $150 credited. After rebate, $99.99 plus tax... Also got unlimited data, Sprint TV, pick 5 for $5 total... I'm gonna try the unlimited mobile next even though I'm not on an everything data plan, although maybe I shouldn't push my luck!

Re: Official TOTAL price you paid for Pro2

$70 retention, then the normal $449 - $100 MIR + $18 upgrade fee + about $35 taxes. What's that, about $329 total? yep.
