Re: First timer want to flash a JuicyROM
1. This is posted in the wrong forum.
2. First you'll have to use the HSPL Unlocker to unlock your phone. This is the big step in the process. 3. Once your device has been unlocked, assuming that Juicy's ROM is similar to MightyMike's, you'll just need to run the exe you downloaded to flash the new ROM to your phone following the instructions displayed in RUU. Once it's done, you've now flashed a custom ROM. 4. If you need to return your phone or have it worked on by Sprint, you'll need to download the stock sprint rom from the stock rom thread in the upgrades forum and then flash that like you flashed the custom rom. Then, use the HSPL re-locker (from same place the unlocker came from) to re-lock the phone so that it appears that nothing ever happened with your device outside of the norm.

i am a newbie to flashing custom roms as well. i have successfully unlocked, and then flashed 3 custom roms until i found a rom i was happy with for the time being. since the first one, i find myself always looking for rom updates now though so be ready for that. the most important thing that was conveyed to me was to read the directions a couple of times, make sure you understand them, then unlock and flash. be prepared for anything though. i understand this can ruin your phone so protect your investment however you see fit. good luck! cheers, AA |

Re: First timer want to flash a JuicyROM
You may want to wait until R8 is released before going with Juicy.
I recently went away from the Juicy setup as I had problems with incoming calls failing to ring that followed me through 4 different versions of this ROM. This is a known problem that is supposed to be fixed in R8, but it was a deal killer for me (I need my phone to ring 100% of the time). Since switching ROMs, I have not had this problem once. ~John |
