usually in the dark I map a button to an on screen white app
instant flashlight and darn bright too! its only on for like 30 seconds so not that huge of a battery drain. Been using it since my xv6700
For m, the flashlight isn't a deal breaker

Is the touch pro 2 a dual gsm/cdma? Does it mean I can go to another country and plug in a sim card and it will work? Thanks for responses.

LOL, I too uses it as a flashlight but that alone will not deter me from obtaining this phone....

maybee, after the geniuses enable it, even though htc said it can't be done.

Yep, flash is way better as a flashlight than a white screen. Also, it makes the difference in low/no light situations for pictures.

I can't believe I'm getting into the flashlight discussion, but has the lack of flashlight been confirmed? I ask because the photos of the back appear to have the same LED in the same position that the TP1 has.

i think thats the speakerphone button for the conference calling

Could be, but the european version shown on the HTC website sure looks like it has a flash. Of course it also has a different back cover, but that's just cosmetic. I guess we'll just wait until one is in hand.
