Increasing Signal Strength

Signal strength is pretty weak in my office and a lot of the time when I try to use data, it's usually only 1x which is pretty frustrating. Occasionally it will jump to 3g but never for long. I'm on the 4th floor of an office building in zip 77042 if that helps any.

Are there any devices out there that will successfully improve my signal? Would using a different radio have any effect on it? Input is appreciated

You can get an AIRAVE or whatever they call the new ones that work with 3G data. You'll probably have to say it's for home use though. You'll need a free network port and a location close enough to a window so it can pull a GPS signal. They can use cell towers for the location if the signal is strong enough (at least the older version that I have does). Usually when you tell them your signal is bad, they usually will give you a credit for the $5/mo charge. I haven't paid for mine since I've had it (did have to call and have them re-new the credit for another 2 yrs.).

Yes try using radio 2.37,
You can also try another rom.
Yes it is true some roms can pull in signals better.

Do you have a link? Tried looking for that radio, can't find it in these threads.

I checked my device, and it says I'm using 2.05.00WV. I used Olipro's unlocker and thought I had flashed the 2.32.00WU radio. I'm using Apr 15th Energy ROM 29016 Standard CHT 2.0 , does it flash over my radio as well?

I uploaded that radio to the 1st thread above... HERE

When flashing custom ROM's radios are not normally included, whatever you had on it before will stay. Try 2.32 Sprint and both 2.35 and 2.37 Verizon... it is totally location specific what works best. What works good for me here, may suck for you. Also update your PRL, there was a new one out last week. good luck

Thanks. Will give that a try and report back. My Sprint connection has really been horrible lately. I'm also getting less than 100k download speed so I can't even stream satellite radio without it buffering all the time.
