Re: Dont want to give up my TP2, But is it time?
Just get the LG optimus S. It's plenty fast, android, and it tethers. Seriously, once you get a tablet, you'll hardly use your phone for browsing, vids, and games.
Hell I try not to even text using my phone.... lazydroid ftw. heck, if your phone still works, keep it and get a tablet as a companion. Galaxy tab + smart phone that can tether = win. |

my uncle from PA had a MOTO xoom and I played with it for 2 mins while they were down here for the weekend. while I do think that its better than the iFad its not for me. and getting a tablet and a smartphone on the same plan will cost more than just upgrading the smartphone. |

The form factor of the 10 inch tab is a mistake. 7 inch is where it's at. Minimum size for a tablet and maximum portability. 2 minutes is hardly enough time to evaluate a tablet. The Ipad by most accounts is better than the zoom. Last edited by chardog; 05-17-2011 at 11:56 PM. |

I've spent maybe 45 mins to an hour or so on my cousins iFad just to see what it was like and from the 2 mins I had the xoom I was able to tell right away that it has more potential than the iFad. |

Chardog question for you thanks for recommending the OPtimus S it looks like its a great phone. But Im curious does it support flash. Ive read enough to see that the processor is to old to support flash. But if you download skyfire can you see videos on the internet? Because it doesn't support flash there must be some games that dont work with it right? Thanks |

it plays angry birds, fruit ninja, ect. I'm in front of a pc all day due to my profession, and lazydroid is a godsend. love it. Looks like netflix is working on it as well. It has a pretty good community over androidcentral.com. Here is a more thorough look at the speed of the optimus: Analysis of Qualcomm MSM7x27 (MSM7227 MSM7627) and MSM7x25 (MSM7225 MSM7625) processors - how good are they? - Smartphone Benchmarks (SmartBench 2010/Quadrant) Forum as for flash with skyfire, it works great. the multimedia on that phone is not my cup of tea(tablet is for multimedia), but if you want a small phone, with great battery life, and very satisfactory performance, I can easily recommend the optimus S. I understand that a lot of people need a monsterous phone with monsterous specs, but if you dont care for that, and just care about a highly functional phone with the best app market in town and most flexibility, I'de go with the optimus S. it cant compete with the latest or greatest, but that doesnt make it any less functional. I like to compare it to the iphone 3gs. People have been flocking to the iphone 4, at the same time, it doesnt mean the 3gs is a crappy phone. it's still a fantastic phone, and can do most of what the iphone 4 does. |
