Re: Who plans to go HD2?
P slim i respect you alot and you do alot for the community, but i have to catch you up in your own theory. You just said that the max output was 21mpbs now you say 100mbps....which one is it???? WiMax i don't think will fail, at the worst it just won't be as popular as LTE and for the records HSPA is not better then sprints 4g. If it was so much better why would they even need to go to LTE????

WiMAX is designed to handle speeds between 75Mbps and 268Mbps.

Re: Who plans to go HD2?
Doesnt matter since no matter whether it be LTE or wimax you will pretty much never see those peak speeds on a phone.

Re: Who plans to go HD2?
the actual download speeds with Wimax aren't even offical yet, with every new phase they roll out the signal gets stronger and faster. Only time will tell

Re: Who plans to go HD2?
To be honest, I was with AT&T back when it was Bell south Mobility back in 1989. I just switched over to Verizon just last year. I didn't want to go over myself. But, where I moved the service was terrible. I would have to go out in the front yard to get service. The only carriers that work where I live is Verizon & Southern Linc. To be honest, I haven't had as many dropped calls with Verizon. I am always able to get service. I have not found a place yet that I couldn't get service. So, for me CDMA is the way to go as far as getting a signal and making calls. Were I live I get 3G speeds just find. The only thing that you can't do and isn't that big of a deal is the talking on the phone while on the internet.
As far as a US carrier getting the HD2, no one is so far. Of course that is according to HTC. I would love nothing more to have a HD2. But, there is no one so far that is getting one. I talked with HTC on Jan. 6th of 2009. Keep in mind that it was from a customer support person on the phone. So, take it with a grain of salt. Also, they said that there is not a CDMA version at all. Everything is GSM at the moment. I have the Touch Pro 2 myself. Just got it a little over a week. I love the phone I would NEVER want to go back to the Touch Pro. Especially the Verizon one. In less then two months I went though three of those ghastly things. Kept having problems with the touch screen dying. Kept getting the rainbow effect in the thing. So, the Touch Pro 2 is defiantly welcomed. I hope that they do make a CDMA version of the HD2 and Verizon & Sprint gets it. But if they don't, I am sure that HTC will have a phone by years end that will have the snap dragon processor and a capacitive touch screen for the US market. Until then, I am perfectly happy with my Touch Pro 2. |
