Re: What do you HATE about the TP2??
There a lot of things I don't like about the phone, but seeing as how it allows me to keep the $30 SERO plan, I can live with them.

lol i agree! good idea but you could always install shutxp but that would only work if the phone wasn't totally locked. |

Yes, pretty much any CEO or COO would throw that garbage away without a keyboard. My point is, I would also throw that garbage away without a keyboard, as would my wife and teenage kids. And we are consumers, not execs. Somehow HTC got the idea that only business users want a keyboard. And I guess most of the people in this thread are okay with the notion that a stripped down device is still okay as long as it has a keyboard and we can label it a "business centric" device. Again- the Diamond 2 and Imagio have a better camera, and a flash. They also have all of the "business features" of the Touch Pro 2. They don't, however, have a keyboard. |

I guarantee you that iPhone marketing is great for personal sales, but a businessman doesn't want to be seen toting one around into an executive meeting with banks and lenders. They don't want to be associated with that stuff. Myspace, Facebook, etc etc. I'm not saying every businessman is like this, but you really shouldn't be counting the 20-somethings who still get loaded at the bars a few times a week. Sometimes you can't have everything without losing some base. |

Re: What do you HATE about the TP2??
How do I Hate thee... Let me count the ways
1 - No Official WM 6.5 2 - No soft reset hole 3 - No Ctrl Key 4 - No Flash 5 - No D pad 6 - The power button is in the WORST possible place for using the keyboard! I turn the dams screen off with my index finger all the time! Even with the above list this is still by far the best phone I have ever owned and I am still running the stock ROM!

We're not talking about an average, everyday phone here. This is HTC's top of the line phone that has a keyboard. I guess that makes it HTC's top of the line business phone. Because HTC doesn't understand that consumers want a keyboard. Have you seen the Best Buy holiday commercial where the guy says his wife is texting 24/7 so they suggest he get her a smartphone? Or the slew of Moto Droid and Moto Click commercials where they tout the device's keyboard (and it's some general consumers using it on facebook or youtube or something)? Consumers WANT a keyboard. That's why the majority of this forum owns a Touch Pro 2. Because I highly doubt business users are hacking their phones up the way most of us here are. Maybe here and there, but not the majority of them. I think most of us here are consumers, who maybe also happen to use this device for some business purposes as well. But my account is a consumer account, as I suspect most of the users of this site are consumer accounts as well. Anyway, my point stands- the Imagio has all of the business functions that you speak of, but it does not have a keyboard, and it does have a better camera and a flash. Just saying this device is for business does not make it okay to strip a bunch of features. You know what this reminds me of? All the iPhone fanboys who said stupid stuff like, "We don't need MMS anyway" or "We don't need copy and paste anyway" and then acted like it was the greatest thing since sliced bread when they finally got it. All of us were telling them how their phone was missing basic features, and we were laughing at them justifying it. When they finally got these basic features, only then did they admit they had been sorely missed all along. Here we have a bunch of people doing the same thing. Teh Touch Pro 2 is lacking basic features that even other HTC phones have. There is no justifying that. And even if there was a good justification for it, just saying "it's a business device" certainly doesn't come close to justifying it. Last time I checked, CEO's and other execs bought luxury cars that had all the bells and whistles... Last edited by BlackDynamite; 12-28-2009 at 02:31 PM. |

Re: What do you HATE about the TP2??
I'm good for now... I've found some workarounds while not perfect. At least most of my complaints are fixed, hacked or worked around. Just patiently waiting for W7.
