I turn my phone off (usually just pull the battery) probably 10 times a week, as that dang battery does NOT last long enough, and I have to swap it 1-3 times many days just to get through the day.
However, despite this, one a week or once every two weeks, my phone stops ringing or delivering other notifications when the screen is off, until the phone is turned back on. I have no idea why. This also leads me to reset the phone. |

Lithium ion chemistry prefers non-deep cycles, so for longevity, it is best not to discharge them fully. In fact, the charge controller actually blocks a total discharge, as that could actually damage the cells.
Deep cycles are only useful for calibrating the charge controller occasionally. (The voltage curve when the battery is draining varies slightly over time as the battery wears.) That said... in real life, deep charges aren't that big a deal. Batteries are cheap. Just do what gets you the best use of the phone. Maybe an occasional full discharge if you don't get those every so often. |

I've always done the three full charge/discharge cycles whenever I get a new phone and I always end up with a better battery than everyone else so obviously, its working for me.
As a matter of fact, I've never replaced the original battery on ANY of my phones, while I've had a number of friends that go through batteries like girlfriends (about 3-6 times a year) |

I dont turn my phone off; I need to stay connected to the world. As far as replacing batteries, I've always gotten an extended battery for all my phones. I am not always in a position where I can slap my phone on a charger, and having it go dead 1/2 way thru the day is not acceptable. |

Usually goes off/on (soft reset) every 3 or 4 days. Seems like the infamous memory leak is my biggest slow-down, so I re-boot just to free up memory. This is faster, and returns more memory than the "stop all" programs function.
