Re: VZW aGPS issues anyone?

I am testing the other aGPS server IP addresses and will report back later. Seems to be faster, but from what I remember you need 8 hours or so for your phone to have a true cold start. Outside I was getting immediate to 30 second locks too, a bit faster with Alltel settings rather than VZW. No better inside with Alltel. Thanks to IIIboredIII for some input to get me going in the right direction. |

Re: VZW aGPS issues anyone?
Mine smoked and won't work since last weekend. Using the program "GPS Viewer" I can see the communication strings from the GPS to the application and it seems that the strings sent by the gps chips that I used to see were filled with data are now just strings of commas. Does this mean that the GPS has somehow been deactivated? Too much coincidence for this to be just the posters phones all going down at the same time. This is either the GPS signal being changed, which I highly doubt or Verizon having distirubuted some firmware update that zanked everyones GPS.

![]() Could be true or not, but who is to say other than the techhies who work on the server, or some head honcho at VZW. LOL, Does anyone have a XV6800 with legitamate MR1/MR2 running VZnav with no cracks or hacks? I forget if that is even possible, haha. |

Re: VZW aGPS issues anyone?
Same problem here (West Michigan). The registry edit fixed it. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...=494551&page=4)

Re: VZW aGPS issues anyone?
just talked to a friend of mine who has a blackberry that has vznavigator and that is not working either. My guess is Verizon is having problems, possible related to the recent merger with Alltel.

Tried this and it did not work for my MR1 xv6800 with Vahalla. Google Maps still reports problems with the GPS signal. I am NOT getting the error that there is "No GPS" conneted. |

Re: VZW aGPS issues anyone?
For those still having problems, try using Telus aGPS settings. Not sure if this is the solution but it seems like aGPS is working for me now, will tell you in 5 or 6 hours so I can get a true cold start.
You will need to make these changes in QPST and the registry. 216.198.139.92 8889 IP PDE GPS Mode = 4 EnableAGPS = 1 |
