Re: VZW aGPS issues anyone?

Your choice but we know it works on MR2. Verify all your settings including under phone, registry, and qpst.

Re: VZW aGPS issues anyone?

Hmm.. the problem is there are so many different posts of folks saying use these settings, that I dunno if I am using the correct settings. I am not sure what the correct settings are anymore. heh.

Essentially, I ran the valhalla gps server cab, and the telus settings cab that was posted here in this thread.

When I use gos viewer it just runs and does nothing.... it never locks onto a sat. What settings are you using?

Umm, yeah.... Unless you are forced to stay on stock rom cause of work or whatever, I don't see the advantage (please someone enlighten me why I should go back to stock ).

In my signature below there is some instructions for how to go from MR1 or MR2 to DCD (but you can substitute a kitchen or whatever custom rom in the places it says DCD). I know a bunch of people that this works for.

Hope this helps.

Re: VZW aGPS issues anyone?

Yeah, I had followed those instructions on my last phone (before I got this one) and I had no luck.

I am wondering if they are doing something in my area. I am in TN. I think I am going to signup for VZNav just to see if aGPS is even in my area.
So, I am thinking, keep MR2 (all stock except for valhalla and telus settings cab) and then install and signup for VZnav and see what happens.

Re: VZW aGPS issues anyone?

Ok. Odd... get this.

I called verizon, subbed to their vznav service. Then I tried getting a lock before downloading vznavigator. I couldnt get a lock.

Then I downloaded vznavigator, installed it. It locked within seconds!
So then I tried other gps programs and they are all now locking instantly. I get locks within a few seconds. It has never been this fast.

I think verizon is doing something with the authentication and IPs. I never once got the first dang sat to lock in no matter what rom, radio or program I used before. Now that I am subbed to their service, I am getting instant locks regardless of the program.

Garmin mobile XT, Google Maps, live search, htc gps tool, gpsviewer, gpstoday... now all of a sudden they are all locking.

Again, I am on the east coast.

Re: VZW aGPS issues anyone?

just read the phone with QPST. all the gpsONE settings are blank. all 0's for the IP and port. and its set to PDE. All the check boxes are greyed out.

Verizon is definatley up to something.

Re: VZW aGPS issues anyone?

I just used VZW's PDE servers without VZNav and got a lock pretty fast.

On the VZNav issue, how about someone gets a packet sniffer and sees what it's doing, also seeing if there are new PDE servers
