Re: VZW aGPS issues anyone?

I havent been able to get solid aGPS for several months now, I have tried all kinds of roms, different settings, you name it. Oddly enough, when I subsribed to Verizons VZNav service, my aGPS works perfectly for any application now.

Really sucks, but VZ must be doing some type of authentication for aGPS servers

Re: VZW aGPS issues anyone?

currently I am running the stock rom, and using valhalla so I havent used QPST for my settings. Mind you, when I tried the valhalla telus settings cab, I would get no locks, so I reflashed the rom back to stock, and installed the valhalla cab by itself, then I installed VZNav. After that my aGPS locks on almost instantly.

I have noticed that when the phone goes into sleep mode, that I have to soft reset in order to get the gps working again.

Exclamation Re: VZW aGPS issues anyone?

I am having weird problems getting this to work. Last week I messed up my usb port on my phone. GPS has always worked fine on my phone. I've been using the Telus server for months. I got a new XV6800 from Verizon and put the same version rom and radio that I had on the original one with all the same software. I did the aGPS fix and now it doesn't work. On my original phone as soon as something would access the gps hardware it would make a data connection or activate the connection if it was already there. This phone doesn't make a data connection at all. No matter what I do it will not make a data connection. Made the registry and QPST settings exactly the same as the original phone. I even put my battery in the original phone and ran a gps tool and it tried to make a data connection. What could be going on here???

Re: VZW aGPS issues anyone?

Yes, location is on. My friend also had an XV6800 and got a new one and has the EXACT same issue. The only difference I can see is this, not sure if it matters:

New Phone

PRL Version: 51433
PRI Version: 2.03_002

Old Phone

PRL Version: 51345
PRI Version: 1.35_002

Re: VZW aGPS issues anyone?

Yes I can. Data works fine and gets initiated by other applications, but does not get initated by the use of GPS hardware like it used to and still does on the old phone. I still have the old phone here and even with out cell service it will still attempt to create a data connection as soon as I start streaming data in GPS Viewer or any app that works with the GPS Hardware.

Nope, using the same rom and radio that I used all along on the old phone.
