Re: VZW aGPS issues anyone?

I bet you have pri version 2.03xxx. If so it is blocking the gps. You need to do the below link then flash custom. The MR1 and MR2 pri block gps on anything else flashed.

Re: VZW aGPS issues anyone?

Yeah, the new phone has PRI Version: 2.03_002. That was the only difference I could find. So the PRI IS the problem? And flashing the older stock from will change the pri.. OK

Re: VZW aGPS issues anyone?

Yep the old rom is pri 1.35 or something. Just unlock and go custom straight from the old rom. Installing mr1 will do the same again.

Re: VZW aGPS issues anyone?

WTH! I flashed the older stock from. PRI downgraded. Reflashed radio and rom and now its back!

Doing this again:

Ran relocker
Flashed old stock rom
Ran Hard-SPL
Checked pri, still older gps friendly pri
Upgraded radio to 3.42.30
Upgraded rom to dcd 3.2.6
Now pri is back to 2.03_002

After I upgrade my radio and rom to dcd the pri goes to 2.03 again... What do I do?

EDIT: The pri does go back to the same version, BUT gps works fine now. As soon as a run a gps app it makes a data connection and I got a fix in less than a minute. I guess the downgrading then upgrading did work fine...

Re: VZW aGPS issues anyone?

I followed exactly the same steps as mnetwork (downgrade, then upgrade), even down to using a dcd rom (except I'm using DCD's most recent). but the aGPS is still not working. I'm using Telus agps settings. anyone else in the same boat, or have any suggestions?

Since its a custom rom, I used QPST, and edited the registry. (I have done this process quite successfully in the past for my two Alltel 6800's, but this is my first Verizon 6800) I have checked, rechecked, and re-rechecked all the settings--its not a setting.

Re: VZW aGPS issues anyone?

You have to downgrade to pregps stock verizon rom. DO not install MR1/2 between 6.0 and the custom rom.

Re: VZW aGPS issues anyone?

As I stated, I did downgrade to a pregps stock Verizon rom.
I did not install MR1/2 between 6.0 and the custom rom. Any other suggestions?

Re: VZW aGPS issues anyone?

First off do you have a data package? Also did you do the following instructions for agps. I suggest you do a hard reset and try again. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=703

Re: VZW aGPS issues anyone?

I do have fully functional data, and did follow the instructions for agps using a registry editor. I have not tried to hard reset and do it again, but if I get desparate, and nobody else out there is having the same issue after following the instructions to the T, I'll go ahead and do it all over again.
