I was wondering the same thing today! Would it make much of a difference if I took all programs off the device and installed everything to the card?

Re: Garmin GPS.......

I installed Garmin Mobile XT to my Mogul and it is up and running. What a sweet app I might say. Now I just need some maps and POI's.

I downloaded North American 2008 NT and it came as Garmin2008.iso. I burned the iso image to a dvd. I clicked on the dvd drive and it opened a setup page. It said that it may take up to 2 hours to complete.

Am I supposed to sync my device to the computer and then run the setup from that dvd or am I suppose to do something different?

Lastly, I tried to download the mapinstaller but it shut down with an error saying it didnt detect a previous version installed. Do I need mapinstall?

Put the dvd in with the 2008 map on it and close the auto run.
Go to your computer and your dvd drive right click and Explore.
In one of the files you'll see the installer for your language click it and install your map .

Download the Map installer "Link in first post" sync and load your map to you device.
Takes about 20/30 minutes.

Re: Garmin GPS.......

I was lookin at the Garmin Nuvii, and it has a car figure instead of the triangle. Is there a way that anyone knows of, where we can change our triangle to a car or anything else???

I don't believe Garmin Mobile XT is in the list of compatible units.
This would be cool.

Re: Garmin GPS.......

Thanks, the POI's are great. I have 2 questions though.

1. Is POI factory a site that people have to pay to use or can I sign up to get the updated POI's as they come out?

2. I already own a "legal" version of City Navigator North America 2008 because I have another Garmin GPS that I use on a regular basis. My question is this, I can't seem to get the maps to work on my Titan though. Everytime I load them onto my Titan and open them up within XT they are locked. Is this because the version I own is not an NT version or am I doing something wrong? The maps are not cheap and to be perfectly honest I'm not interested in paying another $100 for maps I already own and work perfectly well on my other GPS.

Re: Garmin GPS.......

so everytime i load a new map it erases the old one...
do you have to install all the maps at once?

I'm using the MapInstall program... perhaps there is another way?
