I'm still waiting to see if anyone can confirm whether or not it is the new radio that is the power saver. I'm on the new ROM. I flashed back to 1.40 with no Sprint crap and the phone is working pretty well for me.

Also I use the phone a fair amount and often neglect to close my H700. Outlook is set to connect every 5 minutes and pull the entire message down which amounts to a few dozen a day, some with 1Meg + attachments. A 9 hour day, so far seems to yield around a 20-30% battery. Not too shabby, IMO.

I think I have solved the missing Roaming Triangle question. While I am roaming on Verizon, a carrier that we all know Sprint has an agreement with for roaming, no Triangle is dispayed. You can make calls, SMS, use data and everything. The normal user, even most of us will just think we are on a Sprint 1x connection.

Now, today my Mogul stubmled upon either Cricket or Blue Wireless, both of which sprint has NO roaming agreement with. When I was on this carrier, the roaming triangle WAS displayed. I guess it did this because those carriers are not in the PRL at all.

What do you guys think?

Short addition...

BT works with my WEP200 (THANK GOD!) I've done about 8 hours worth of calls on it... no problems.

I can't get the phone to roam... I have it set to auto select the network.

Would a PRL update help?

If you're running the 1.47.01 radio, then yes, you should try updating to 60611. It has been an improvement for many of us. You can always go back to radio 1.40 and 60610 if it doesn't work out for you.

Ok. well i flashed to this new rom, radio and PRL. The phone was working flawless. I installed a few programs. HTC Home & Customizer, Threaded SMS, the real picture mail, and x-button.

Everything is going good, but recently my keyboard back lit does not turn on anymore. Have any of you experienced this?

I noticed this too unless the room is VERY dark... I turned off the auto-sensor from Settings > Personal > Buttons > Backlight tab.

CDMA devices don't just stumble upon another carrier. To roam on a particular network means that they are listed in the PRL inside your phone--Sprint would not have listed them there if they had no roaming agreement with them.

just to clarify....

you ARE running 1.47.01 with PRL 60611

and

you DID see the Roaming Triangle Icon?

PRL 20230 is out as well which should not include the triangle.

That is not correct. Carriers like Cricket and even smaller local carriers like Blue Wireless are NOT in the PRL. Even though they are not in the PRL, all my phone will still land on their network from time to time when they cannot find any other available network. The only calls you can make are to the American Roaming Network, if that.
