Re: HD2 I'm not sold...
The HD2 is the last great WM6.5 phone...it is the LAST phone of it's kind and it has BETTER SPECS THAN THE EVO BESIDES THE CAMERA! Both phones have a 1ghz snapdraggon and 1gb or rom memory, and as somebody already said it has 576mb of ram which is more than the evo's 512. Which I'll admit is not even enough to notice a difference.
The only difference between the Evo and the HD2 is Android vs. Winmo and the camera's. It's not a matter of which phone is better, it's a matter of whether or not you want to stick with the WinMo we love to hack for one last hurrah before switching to a truly next gen 4 g phone. And as far as the limitations of the Stock t-mobile rom...there are none, it is by far the best stock WM6.5 build to date. Every single manila mod works no problem and i haven't found a 6.5 mod that doesn't. Last edited by JQuill; 04-08-2010 at 11:53 AM. |

I'm a power user, I need "the whole syncing thing", as you put it. I do more things with my phone than the average user does with their computer. Even Android does the whole syncing thing really well, the only problem is that it only does it well with google. When it syncs Exchange properly, I'll check it out again. All that said, to each his own. There's something out there for everyone that works. |

Re: HD2 I'm not sold...
Windows has plenty of apps available, always has. Granted they aren't as centralized as android or the iphone yet but who really needs access to 50,000 useless apps like a fart machine or "Im t-pain." Win-mo phones are business devices not toys for people who just want whats popular.

Re: HD2 I'm not sold...
thanks for all the opinions and quickly getting back on topic. i agree this is the best stock 6.5 rom i have seen too. and i have heard complaints about android not being recognized for uploads or even downloads on some sites. this is part of the reason i love winmo. most sites think my phone is a computer and i love that. when i try to download or save something it asks me where i want it. i think if i switch to android lack of this ability will be my biggest peeve. although i will probably never be sold on this phone or tmo, i appreciate all of your opinions. also was thinking we will probably see android roms for this phone anyway, like the tp2, so i guess this phone is all about the hardware and giant memory/processor...giant everything really. eat dust ipad. lol

Re: HD2 I'm not sold...
i know what you mean sprintgirl. i got the hd2 because i wanted to see if the snapdragon was all that. it is and then some! whatever platform you choose, be it winmo or android, anything with a snapdragon is going to show you what a cell phone should've been.

I agree I was at the mall today and checked out the Apple store to see the iPad a.k.a. Maxi Pad, and I was not impressed at all. I think that for that types of device I would want something more capable. I was talking to the rep and said how I was disappointed in the lack of flash and he said that you cant do flash on any mobile phones either, I whipped out my HD2 fired up skyfire and went to Hulu ... he shut up really quickly. If I want a new Slate type device (not sure why I would because I actually love browsing the web on my HD2) I will probably buy the HP Slate when it launches this summer.

Re: HD2 I'm not sold...
The HD2 is an incredible phone. I cancelled my Sprint account yesterday. The Tmobile reps were fantastic to deal with. I purchased two HD2's, one for my wife and one for myself for $200.
I have had the TP and the TP2. My wife had the Diamond. This phone is superior. The speed difference is the biggest change. I was already running the HD2 ROM on my TP2, so the interface is pretty much what I was used to. I have to second the comment on TMob customer service versus Sprint. Now, I will just wait for the string of WP7 to hit the market and maybe I will upgrade again. |
