Only real way to test is to do file transfers. Download the same file from a website on your computer, then try downloading from the same location on your phone.

Re: HD2 I'm not sold...

The HD2 DOES have a Task Manager, press the Windows button and scroll to the bottom. Other than that the specs, it GREATLY outspecs any other WinMo phone.

And why are so many people Sprint crazy, from looking at the books Sprint will be lucky to still be around at the end of the year. Profits have been dropping steadily for the past 2 years, bankruptcy or a buyout in the near future. Just like AllTel, Verizon took them over. Oddly enough I see T-Mobile or Cricket buying Sprint out.

Pretty sure Sprint is on a death-spiral
Let's pick this up conversation up by the end of the year when you're working for your current competitors Btw - what's leading edge?

Re: HD2 I'm not sold...

HD2 vs Evo....no comparison.....yeah the size of the two phone are the same but the EVO has way more to offer.

Comparison to each device

Evo -

1. 2 Camera's (8mp rear with dual flash) Front - 1.3mp
2. Android OS with Sense UI
3. 1GB storage and 512mb ram
4. 3G/4G hotspot
5. Kickstand (not that huge of a deal)
6. 720P video recording
7. 1500mAh battery

HD2 -

1. 5mp camera (only one) with dual flash
2. Winmo 6.5 with Sense UI
3. 448mb RAM
4. 1230mAh battery

By in far the Evo holds its place over the HD2. Both phones are great but you can't be a Sprint users and compare the HD2 to what the Evo may be, theres no comparison at all...

I will be upgrading this summer to the Evo....even if I have to sell my TP2 to get it....but atleast I will be able to use the Premier $150 credit after 1 year service to get it...

The Evo is definitely better specced than the HD2, but that's just the natural progression of technology. But to get the Evo I'm not downgrading to Android in it's current form. FFS, it can't even sync my Exchange calendar! My ancient WinMo Treo could do that. Not saying that Evo's hardware won't be amazing, but it's going to be let down by it's OS and it's carrier though unfortunately (this is purely subjective though and just a matter of opinion). Android has a little bit of growing up to do, by the time 3.0 rolls around I hope to be able call it my OS of choice.

Btw - the HD2 has 576 MB of RAM (not 44, which is more than the Evo spec that you just listed

Re: HD2 I'm not sold...

its funny how different ppl feel bout android vs winmo. i love winmo but android is growing on me. as far as palm...junky. i hate them and it was a mistake taking on palm devices imo. sprint is working harder than ever to make drastic improvements and advancements in technology and customer service. 30 day worry free guarantee, 4g coverage and a dramatic increase in customer satisfaction surveys are just some of the things in the forefront of our new image. i know that sprint has had a bad rep for quite sometime, and understand the frustrations some may have experienced but sprint will deliver and result in a higher level of success than ever before. call me crazy but im a believer.

Refreshing to see such a positive attitude! For your sake - I hope Sprint turns things around

Back on topic - I'm still sold on the HD2

Re: HD2 I'm not sold...

Where is Winmo these days? Yeah most of us just got 6.5 and or 6.5.3 with Sense UI....but are there mass apps out there being created for Winmo anymore? Thats a negitive...and if there is...is few and far between. You say Android has some growing up to do? In the time Android has been out they have thosands upon thousands of free apps that are useful, entertaining, and usable. Anytime I search for apps for my TP2 (Winmo) I end up getting old pre 6.1 apps that were made years ago....there's just no love for Winmo anymore. Maybe Windows Mobile 7 will kick start that era of apps again, who knows.

Pretty much all I've seen out there for Winmo phones is cab files to improve how horrible the providers have hosed the phones....nothing making the phone more exciting....

The whole syncing thing is nice, and if your a business person and use it....then winmo is the OS for you, but in my regards I am a non business type person that just loves new technology.....and this one has caught my eye.
