If you are that worried about battery life, buy the extended battery like I did. Then the issue becomes moot.

Re: So what do you guys think so far?

Seems there are issues on both of the phones. I myself got a bad Evo my 1st time out, though it was exchanged for a brand new, seemingly flawless one. I do not have any experience on the Epic, other than what I got playing with one at a Sprint store. I had 30 days to exchange and considered going with the Epic. After playing with it in the store, I stuck with the Evo. The Amoled screen is beautiful, though it seems rather cartoonish. Comparing gaming between the Epic and the Evo, well, to the average joe, seems almost the same. True, the amoled screen makes it look a tad better, but does it blow the Evo away? Can't say that it does. I came fromt he TP2, though with Windows many faults, the hardware itself seemed pretty sturdy. The Epic seems like a cheap knockoff. Seems poorly made, real flimsy. Basically, the Evo seems sturdy and trendy, while the Epic does not.

If you are looking for a beautiful (almost cartoonish) screen and a keyboard, get the Epic. If you want a beautiful, rather rugged, thin handset, Evo. As far as the specs, does a fraction of a second really matter?

Re: So what do you guys think so far?

I did a tad bit of thinking about this, though not much. For such a hyped up device, it sure has its moments of grand disappointment. Over all my TP2 was rock solid. No resets. No problems at all. Bleuteeh worked fine. Did not have to turn the TP2 off/on to ensure the Bleuteeth would continue working. Did not care for the on-screen keyboard, but I was much more comfy with it than the Evo's selection of keyboards. The Evo is fast, the TP2 is reliable. Would I purchase it knowing what I do now? Heck no.

Your missing the point...it is better for gaming due to the GPU, not screen...a lot of the games would play fine on both...but there are a lot of games that are slower and less refined playing on the evo. There are some graphic intensive games that EVO can't keep up with.

This here is pure ignorance...The build quality of the Epic is a lot better then the EVO...you get the "cheap" feeling because the device is light..but that doesn't mean a thing..the device is light because of 2 reasons.

1) Super AMOLED is thinner then LCD
2) Everything inside the Epic is fully compact, even the battery is half the size with same 1500 mah..there is no extra useless loose plastic inside like the EVO has either...Also the glass on the Epic is made of Gorilla Glass which is A LOT sturdier...

Aka you will break an EVO 2x before you'd even think about breaking an Epic...

Also EVO is in no way thin...if you compare it to a keyboard-less galaxy S its fairly thick...

Yes...fractions of a second is what computers are made of..if you have a code of 100,000 lines and each line is a fraction of a second faster..it adds up..the Hummingbird processor has more to it then you think..for example it has a specification for playing back and recording at 1080p.

Ok Gten, we get it. You love your Epic. Congratulations on your purchase. It's a great device and you should be happy. Why do you feel the need to be Samsung's representative on the Evo forum? Is it really that boring in the Epic forum that you keep posting this stuff here? The Evo isnt thin??What?? Try playing a game and take advantage of the gpu or something. lol. You seem quite knowledgable and that is great, but your constant defense of the Epic here is getting old....I suppose it's outdated like the snapdragon. so be a good hummingbird and fly away!!!

I think your misunderstanding...the topic of this thread revolves around both the Epic and the EVO thus I'm answering the question in the topic...

If you noticed a lot of comments here were misconceptions about the Epic in general so I wanted to clear them up..so far if you read the entire thread I was fair to both devices.

If people stop attacking the Epic with false information then I would stop posting.

Just because this is an EVO forum do not think you can say whatever you want about other devices and get away without some form of objection. But I'm not doing this because it is a device I own either..I on many occasions even defended the iphone against baseless accusations...AND I HATE THE IPHONE!!! IT IS THE SOURCE OF ALL EVIL!!! BURNNN!!!!

In the end everyone has their choice of device and I respect that..

If you respect that, then stop posting all this crap - it's just a waste of space and time. Both phones are good phones - they both have their weakness and strengths. Thanks.

Oh please. He's right about there being misconceptions here. If you're going to provide answers for everyone, at least share both sides of the coin. (epic side of the coin being gten's responses)

As stated..I did not post any "crap"..all I am doing is staying on topic..if being on topic isn't allowed here on EVO forums then I apologizes I didn't know that...>.>
