We are comparing apples to oranges now? Did HTC advertise the EVO having over 30fps? No

Does Samsung advertise the Galaxy S with working GPS? Yes

We aren't well at least I'm not..I don't think either one of us is qualified to say whether one problem is harder to figure out then the other. That's my point.

IF they are actually planning on fixing the issue and gave a deadline...I don't exactly see what the problem is?
Samsung is known for saying they are going to do something and then never do..They are known for being very slow with fixes and apparently that hasn't changed.

They advertise having a GPS..but it doesn't advertise that the GPS would work in all locations and conditions...I mean if I'm 1000 feet underground and my EVO GPS does not work...I can now blame HTC? of course I understand that this in not the case with the Galaxy S phones..this is just a counter argument to what your saying..

Most people assume if a Hero can pull over 30 fps so can an EVO..

Also HTC has had its fair share of false advertising:
http://htcclassaction.org/

Not to mention HTC should have told their tech support of the 30 fps issue rather then have them promise people a fix...its still HTC fault...

Yes I agree..but at the same time neither of us is qualified to tell what is more complex an xbox 360 or an NES..but I can clearly say its the xbox 360...this isn't only about the complexity but the fact that the GPS faults only in "certain" circumstances and requires you to be in a specific location that experiences this bug...the SD card issue effected everyone(as far as I remember) and can be debugged from anywhere and not limited by time and location...(yes remember GPS satellites do move)

Also I do have some experience dealing with bugs as I do a lot of programming...and in so I do a lot of debugging in general..so I can at least tell by common sense whats going to be a pain to test or not..

Give me one incident then when they said they will fix something, gave a deadline and didn't fix it? (I'm not saying they didn't I just want an example to go off of)

Do you have stock in Samsung? So you're just making stuff up now and making assumptions to prove your point? So standing outside in the US on a clear day isn't good enough to have accurate GPS? Thats not the same as standing 1000feet under ground, surrounded by concrete and not being able to get a GPS lock.

Frankly your analogy is just stupid!

So none of the stuff you're saying helps you in this so you just make shit up to counter what I am saying? WOW!!

I was countering your advertising claim on how HTC does not advertise above the 30 fps..so if you use that as a bases I can use the 1000 feet below the ground as gps not working as well..is it a bit extreme yes..but its same thing...most people who have a Hero say and upgrade expect their FPS to go up and not down..right? same way you expect GPS to work in certain situations..

To be precise under a clear sky there is no GPS issues...the issue is the following:
"The Samsung Galaxy S (including variants) has a GPS problem that prevents a decent lock from occurring, especially when in canyons and busy places with a lack of view to the clear sky."

Of course by canyons don't assume being in the grand canyon...more likely it means it has problems when it is not in LoS of the satellite.

Thats exactly what I've been trying to explain..at least we agree on one of the points.

Can you be a bit more specific...hat exactly did Samsung promise and gave a deadline for but did not deliver? I know they promised android 2.0 and did not deliver but they didnt give a deadline for it..

Also to note.most people who do choose the Epic will be in their 30 days for the GPS fix...

They did not and will not fix it. Netarchy fixed it. HTC issued the official statement saying that the cap will remain due to the HDMI limitiations.

Is it fixed without any side effects?? I read somewhere reduced battery is a result... is rooting still required for the fix?

Rooting with full NAND access is required. The new kernal regained the 8mp cam. My battery lasts instead of 30 hrs like 26, so I'm good

If you want to read about the community fix here is an article:

http://pocketnow.com/tweaks-hacks/ht...30-fps-barrier

but this is way in june 22 i think so it may have improved since then...there were some vsync issues and etc..but I dont know the exact latest details..many roms also include the fix preinstalled.
