Re: OFFICAL HTC 2.2 update is out!!!

Those stuck on the leaked version should be able to use the downgrade root ROM in order to unstick themselves and then relock with an official 1.47 ROM before updating to the official 3.26 ROM.

I had to do that a few days ago to get out of the leaked ROM and install the leaked & rooted ROM. Once the handset is downgraded you can relock yourself with the 1.47 ROM which was designed to break root and relock the design.

It will take about an 90 minutes from start to Froyo, but it will get you into the official Froyo ROM without waiting endlessly for HTC to fix it for you.

Now by saying what you just said, and if it is true, then you most certainly need to provide some instructions please!

I am stuck!

Rooting gives the ability to run a lot of software you can't otherwise run, including free wifi tether, change ROM's, etc.

- Download any Stock ROM from here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=121961 (I suggest 1.47 ROM to save time updating at the end)
- Copy Stock ROM to SD Card
- Follow directions in Section 3 (download/copy custom recovery)
- Follow directions in Section 4 (but use the Stock ROM instead of the rooted ROM it suggests)
- Stop at Step 34
- After reboot, you should be back on a clean locked stock ROM
- Menu > Settings > System Updates > HTC Software Update
- You should be prompted with the official Froyo ROM update (if not, do a couple of clean reboots and try again)

Hopefully that is easy enough.
So your saying to ROOT your phone in order to unROOT it to the official Android 2.2???

Re: OFFICAL HTC 2.2 update is out!!!

Yea, there's no fast and easy fix so I had to improvise. When ****ed up with the leak ROM I actually flashed the downgrade ROM, then installed custom recovery and immediately flashed the rooted leak ROM instead of going the extra steps. I had to flash the rooted leak ROM 3 times before it finally stuck for some reason, and then the radio's were quick and painless afterwards.
