HTC 2.2 update is out.

Got it in NYC! I had a crappy day at work and just got in my car to head home. For some reason I thought I'd check to see if maybe I'd get lucky and sure enough, the update was available!

I really like that car panel, even if the car kit isn't available yet. The flashlight too - I like the different levels of light.

There also seems to be a couple of other apps - places and news and weather together.

As someone else pointed out, the camera icons turn now as you go from portrait to landscape. I'm sure there are lots of other little things as well as speed improvement. Looking forward to discovering them.

did you download it manually? if is on that way you need go to recovery do a full wipe then run it

Well aren't you the lucky pair. Sprint turns on 4g and HTC releases Froyo, in the same day for you. Mark it in the calendar and celebrate the anniversary of this day for years to come. =)

I have never rooted....not really sure why I would want to...what does it give me?

I just tapped on menu -> settings -> System updates -> HTC software update.

downloading froyo now
