Update to Froyo complete....10:45 pm EDT
So I decided to check for the update at 9:30 pm EDT...wishful thinking. It was there!!!
I downloaded the file and installed the update. It took about 10 minutes to download. The installation went like this: 1. a green bar on the screen showed the download progress. 2. The install shows you a green arrow icon that flashes between a white screen that says HTC EVO. 3. After 10 minutes the Sprint logon images showed up that look like glass. 4. Then I waited another 5 minutes until my desktop reappeared. I was pleasantly surprised that all of my apps, both free and paid were still there. The Market Place showed only the paid apps on the download list. Looks good so far. Make sure your phone is charged up and don't touch it until it is done...equals....successful upgrade Last edited by WarChild; 08-03-2010 at 01:40 AM. |

And is this the official Android 2.2 or is it the Unofficial Android 2.2?

Re: OFFICAL HTC 2.2 update is out!!!
The link is for an update....for people unrooted running 2.1 to update to 2.2. HTC said it'll be a few days for them to come up with a "fix" for those people that did the "unofficial" 2.2 upgrade this past weekend. I would wait for the devs, however, to come up with a fix. I highly suspect the HTC "fix" will close root.
