If you remove the widget and in messengers settings uncheck received notification it will be like it is gone.

Did HTC/Sprint release the 2.2 ROM without testing it properly?

Is anyone else thinking that this ROM should have been released after a lot more testing? They could have "leaked" the final production ROM to the world and we could have banged on it. Instead, we're using it in production devices and it seems to be causing any number of issues.

EVO Slow after unrooted 2.2 update..

After i updated yesterday, my phone is less responsive to touch and also the bars on my phone is 2-3 where it used to be full bars in my home. Also when i switch between screens its slow to respond and close. I have turned phone off, removed battery and reinstalled. It helped a little but still not where it used to be when i first got it.

Any suggestions?

Re: EVO Slow after unrooted 2.2 update..

I wonder if you got a bad install, mine flies after the update and is more responsive. Then again, I'm no pro so feel free to put a hit out on me, lol.

Force Closures

Ive been getting ALOT of force closures on froyo. Happened with the leaked version .3 and now with the current Rom I'm using. Its particularly bad with slacker radio. Almost anytime I start a new app with slacker running slacker closes. Any ideas why this might be the case?

This is usually why phone makers and cell carriers don't like to release OS upgrades. They would just prefer you upgrade to a new phone.

Then again, there's never been a OS that is completely bug free so you can't beat on HTC or Sprint too much.

It is always easy to blame Sprint or HTC whenever someone has an issue. The person complaining never stops to ask is this problem wide spread or am I the only one having the issue. 9 times out of 10, it is user related and even leaking a flawless item out to the world for testing before final release would result in them getting TONS of useless data from thousands of people who don't truly know what they are doing. They can only ignore it until many people start complaining about the same defect and useful info is provided like what exactly is the problem and how to recreate it. Otherwise its just useless chatter.
