Re: The End Of The Rooted Evo?
Just to be clear if your phone has never been rooted and you received the latest OTA update from HTC you cannot root your device at this time.
With that said do I think that a none rooted device with the update be able to root (which is the original question)? I would say that if it takes more than 72 hours then its going to be weeks too a couple months. Will they do it? I don't think anyone can say with a 100% accuracy. My gut is telling me that they most likely will find a way, but it could take quite a while.

They will do it because they can. The devs look at a device that was once rooted, and now is not, as a challenge. And they LOVE a good challenge.

WOW!!! Droidbox39 said it clearer than anyone else on this topic. I didn't know that...I was actually ready to root my phone this weekend. Guess not.

Re: The End Of The Rooted Evo?
The way some of the other posts read it was like you could still root just not with unrevokeds method, which clearly is not the case.

Re: The End Of The Rooted Evo?
most people who rooted should of did a nand backup so just restore that and your fine....I really don't see a point for this thread....and I rarely ever say that...

If it wasn't for this "useless" thread, I would of been going out of my mind this weekend trying to root.

I tell you why.. it's the things they do not tell you in the update. If big issues or defects are found, companies will not likely disclose them. It makes them look bad and have consumers lose confidence in the product. They update and do not mention this. It happens all the time. IT is my living, been doing it for years. |
